It's great seeing everyone else's dolls! I personally think she's one of the most beautiful American Girl dolls. I saw her for the first time in the catalog when the Girl of Today dolls first came out when I was 10 years old and was completely taken with her and named her Olivia. I finally got Olivia last year when I found her on eBay! She's still in the outfit I received her in (which incidentally is the prettiest Meet outfit of the new dolls I think) and doesn't have any other clothes because I haven't found anything that seems "right" for her. She's always seemed every elegant to me. It finally occurred to me today that Samantha's and Rebecca's outfits seem most appropriate for Olivia, so I'm going to get on that! I guess she'll be a historical girl. I still need to think up a background for her, but I'm quite pleased with my revelation.
Anyway, here is my Olivia. Isn't she lovely? One thing I wonder about is her skin color. It strikes me as being pretty ashen looking. I've never seen another medium skinned American Girl doll in person so I don't know if this is normal or not. If it helps, the tag on her side says she was made in 2008. I ordered Kanani though so I guess I'll know about her skin tone soon enough! Also she seems to look more naturally colored in this photo (at least on my computer). What do you all think? Thanks so much!

Edit: Here is a picture of Olivia and Kanani. You can see how very different their skin tones are!

Olivia's skin tone really creeped me out for a while and kept me from bonding with her properly, but I recently tried putting her in Nellie's Christmas dress and suddenly she looks 10 times better. I had never changed her out of the outfit she came in and it turns out bolder colors (Nellie's dress is white, black and red) do more for her skin tone than pastels- at least lavender. My 15 is now Olivia Felice Carmichael, Nellie's friend from school.
