another note on historical accuracy... girls addy's age and especially her class probably wouldn't have had a hoop skirt/crinoline, though many girls wanted to wear them. Sometimes girls would save up for one together, and take turns wearing it. I don't know where Addy might have gotten one, if she was busy saving for the freedman's fund or for a gas lamp or whatever. Instead, for "poof" and for warmth, many girls wore petticoats upon petticoats. They were usually white, but oflen also red or black (+ to AG) or made of skirts that were too worn to wear on the outside, not nice enough. A petticoat was oflen worn under the hoop, too, in case a strong breeze caught the hoop and lifted it(I think... I don't remember if this is just for reenacting or how history was.)
