This outfit was released in 2005 and retired in 2011.
Girls today who share Kaya’s Nez Perce roots often wear traditional outfits like this one to pow-wows. Help your doll dance to the slow beat of a drum in this beautiful fringed dress. Add a beaded choker and embroidered moccasins, plus a feathered comb for her hair. Set includes trading cards and a matching beaded choker for you, too!
What would be called tradditonal, though tradditonal among the plains tribes not the Nec Perce. The material is velvet soft, hangs excellently and the color looks good in contrast to Kaya's dark eyes/hair. Her shoes are a pistol! I can't imagine a little kid trying to get them on,it takes alot of wiggling and pullling to get them on. The doll sized necklace fastens with maganets,a great idea since it's easy to get on and dosen't snag doll hair. The girl sized necklace isn't anything fancy by any stretch, just plastic beads but cute and it fits me. So I guess I can dress like Kaya:P
Over all it's nice to see Kaya's powow collection be rounded out,I guess I should add as a foot note that from what I've learned about tradditonal powow dresses they can be split into two catogories. The "pan indian" of the plains tribes which are used by many native people regardless of tribal affilation and tradditonal related to an indvidual's tribal dress.
