This item was released in 2003 and retired in 2007.
Pow-wow dancers are careful not to let the long fringe on this shawl touch the ground as they spin, jump, and step to the beat of a drum. This colorful outfit includes a blouse, a vest, a ruffled skirt, a woven yoke, fringed moccasins, a scarf with a beaded rosette, and hair rosettes and ribbons.
This is one of my favorite outfits for Kaya! There are many separate pieces in this outfit, which makes it quite versatile. The skirt, blouse, vest, scarf, and shawl are all made of a nice quality satin. The woven yoke has rows of beads to keep it together in one piece that Kaya can slip over her head. The rosettes for her hair and the half-rosette for her neck scarf are really beaded in a beautiful design. The shawl is huge - the satin fabric is 24 inches across and is larger than a half-circle - with a thick, rich, 3-1/2 inch fringe around it, and small elastic loops that hook over Kaya's thumbs when she wears it. The moccasins are white with a woven ribbon across the toe that matches the design in the yoke. They also are thickly fringed with white satiny fringes. The outfit also comes with two long yellow satin ribbons to braid into Kaya's hair.
The only drawback I can think of to this gorgeous outfit is that it is so slippery, that it is a little difficult to get Kaya dressed in it properly - especially the moccasins.
I give this outfit an A - would be an A with many pluses if not for the difficulty in dressing.
