Kaya's Tatlo and Travois set was released in 2002 and retired in 2018. Her Dog, Tatlo (without the travois) was reintroduced in 2019, and retired mid-December 2023.
Tatlo and Travois: In Kaya and Lone Dog, Lone Dog’s pup Tatlo becomes Kaya’s dog as her family begins their journey to the camas meadows. On the trip, Tatlo can pull a travois loaded with Kaya’s bedding. A furry blanket cushions his back.Dog, Tatlo: When the Nez Perce traveled, dogs were responsible for guarding the camp. Kaya names her puppy Tatlo, or ground squirrel, because he’s so small. But he grows into a smart and loyal companion. He has plush fur and intelligent eyes.I don't have the complete set, only Tatlo. Tatlo stands about 9 inches tall and is about 10 inches from nose to tail. I was surprised at his size considering the other girls' pets that I have. He is very plush and stuffed with fluff (unlike Coconut and Licorice.) He has different colors of fur which make him look more like a real dog. His tail and his legs have wires in them so that he can bend and pose all kinds of ways. His tail has a furry tip so when it's bent toward his head (as a husky would carry his tail) he looks very authentic. He has bright yellow eyes that can bug out a bit if you play with him too much. Then you have to push them back into his head to make him look more normal again. I think he is a bit expensive, but Kaya relies on her dog, so we needed to get him. Grade A I don't have the travois, so we'll leave that to someone else to review here.
