Sombrita the Baby Goat JBAA (D5892) $15 (price increase from $18 to $20 January, 2012)
When mean old Florecita died and left a tiny orphan behind, Josefina was determined to raise her. The frisky black and white goat was called Sombrita, “little shadow,” because she followed Josefina everywhere. She even has a silver bell around her neck so you can keep track of her!Our Sombrita is an older version and doesn't look like the pictures on the web site. I don't know if the newer Sombritas have a whiter face or if the AG site's pictures just make her looked washed out. I think Sombrita is just wonderful. I won't quote her measurements again, but I'm very impressed with her quality and style. I expected her to be hollow plastic covered with flock, like Felicity's Posey. She's hard, heavy and covered with imitation fleece. Her face, ears, and legs from the ankles down are tan flocked. Her body is white and black fleece that is glued onto her body. Ours is attached under her belly unlike the first poster's Sombrita. Also, the black fleece doesn't feel any different in texture as the first poster mentioned. Our Sombrita feels very furry all over. Her little bell makes tiny tingling sounds. It is attached only with a hemp cord. She has an adorable tilt to her head and sweet smile. I think she's worth the price as she is very sturdy and well made. Grade A.
