I really like Kirsten's school lunch. My original 1980s tine is made from cheap balsa wood with a wood burned design. The tine looks just like a little souvenir tine my grandparents brought back from Norway and pictures I have seen of them. The biggest drawback to the tine is that is it very fragile. The handle and little tabs broke off. The food is made from clay and is really realistic and is very heavy so Kirsten can't really hold her food very well. I like that they gave her a real harvest meal, very appropriate for the fall and for a pioneer. The napkin that comes with the set is a typical Swedish piece of woven linen. It's a nice weight and can be used to line the tine or use as a placemat or napkin.
Grade: A- for the flimsy tine
