This outfit is worn by Kirsten in the book Meet Kirsten. Released in 1989, retired in 2002.This is the outfit Kirsten wore on the long, hard boat ride from Sweden to America. Its traditional striped skirt is topped with a peasant blouse of unbleached muslin. Decorative laces close the front of the plaid vest. Cover her head with the flowered kerchief when the cold ocean winds blow. B-r-r-r.I love the dirndl because it's so realistic looking. The colors look great on Kirsten, and the lacing on the front is so detailed. It would be better if it really laced up, instead of velcro, but I still love this dress. I know it also comes with a kerchief, which I need to order from replacement parts. Edited to add that mine is a gray market outfit, but since I've loved it from the good ol' P.C. days, I don't really mind. I just LOVE how it looks on Kirsten and every doll I try it on. Kirsten looks so sweet in this dress!! I have to give it an A+! Sweet #16 in this outfit, paired with Kirsten's meet bonnet:
