I just got this in an exchange today and yes the dress is very simple. I might consider trying iron down the ruffle sleeves on low setting because they don't look like they are going to sit down on her shoulder properly.
The crown, to my first impression, was just flimsy paper or cardboard. It looks to actually have been reinforced in the back. It's hard, shiny plastic.
