Molly's wooden Drop-Leaf Table & Chairs is associated with the book, Happy Birthday, Molly! The set was introduced in 1987 and retired in Spring 2000, when it was replaced by Molly's Chrome Table & Chairs.A drop-leaf table is cozy enough for one or two and big enough for a whole party of friends! A practical piece of furniture found in almost every dining room in the ’40s, yours is made of pine with a warm walnut finish. It has two leaves to fold up and down as you play. And there’s a pair of sturdy chairs with turned legs to match the table in the early American style that was popular when Molly was growing up.I just got these yesterday after winning them on eBay for a GREAT price and I am thrilled beyond words. They are gorgeous and very well made and look exactly like the two drop leaf tables I have in my condo. Why did this set have to be retired? I like the new table and chairs well enough but don't think they look like something a thrifty war-time family would have. *mod edit to remove dead image link
