DD10 has the pajamas and loves them. They run a bit large (on her) but she's since grown into them. They are perfect for summer. She gets overheated easily and prefers light pajamas and the set is one of her favorites. We didn't notice them being too thin (see through?).
The only issue we've had is that they started to "pill" but she doesn't mind and we've gotten a lot of use from them. I think we bought the set in the summer of 2009.
