Here's the review I posted on the AG site when I first bought Molly, before I even knew of AGPT:
50+ Little Girl
Overall - 5 Stars
Quality - 5 Stars
Product Appearance - 5 Stars
Age Appropriate - 3 Stars
Educational Value - 5 Stars
Play Value - 4 Stars
Good Investment
As you can see by my "By" line, I'm not the typical AG reviewer. I bought Molly (for myself) after years of admiring her from afar. I was not disappointed but I do feel Moms and Grand-moms need to be aware of a few things. First and foremost, the knock-off AG dolls are just that...I bought one, and there really is no comparison. If your little girl is young, or not much into dolls, they're great but once you hold them side-by-side you'll understand that you really do get what you pay for. Molly is much more solid and well-crafted than her less expensive cousin. As for the Molly Meet outfit, the sweater does not have a back opening so I foresee lots of problems for younger fans. Second the shoes are plastic and, unfortunately, look it. I know that many buyers skip over the 8+ age recommendation for AG dolls so it's not surprising that Molly generates so many hair complaints...if your little one likes to brush and style hair, Molly is not a good buy. If she can keep Molly's hair in braids this is the doll for you. One final warning, my Molly arrived with her hair in disarray (finger combing fixed the problem) so, if this is a gift, you may want Molly to visit the powder room and fix her hair before she is seen in public. On a practical note, I used snail mail and paid with a money order and Molly was on my doorstep in two weeks. Great work AG!
