Hula Costume (Halloween Hula Costume) (retired)

I have a PM set. It came in a lot with my lovely PM Molly or else I probably wouldn't have gotten the outfit at all, and certainly not this version! The paper is nice in that it's accurate to the story and the time, but as other reviewers have noted, it's extremely fragile. I'm not a kid and don't really play with my dolls beyond dressing and photo taking, and even so Molly is constantly losing strips of crepe paper. But perhaps the biggest complaint I have (which is, admittedly, a smaller problem but it irks me to no end) is the fact that the grass skirt doesn't go all the way around her! I have to have her wear her slip under it or else she's flashing everyone.

I do love the sweater, bag, and mask. I also have no problem with the paper lei and wrist and hair flowers. It's just the skirt. Seeing the pics in this review make me realize I'd probably prefer a Mattel set. This is a C at best. The skirt lowers the grade a lot.
