I fell in love with AGoT 26 the second I saw her. She even managed to move ahead of AGoT 21 on my short list. As soon as I could, I ordered her.
I was so excited about her, but I was also quite nervous about her hair. What would it be like? Stiff? Crunchy? Would I mess it up right out of the box? Would she be fun to play with? Could her hair handle being styled in simple styles? Could her hair be brushed or picked? What if her curls got messed up?
As soon as she arrived, I knew it would not matter even if she was bald- she is one of the prettiest dolls that AG offers.
She has the prettiest, smoothest, creamy, honey brown complexion. Her skin tone is just stunning. She does not look like any of the other dolls I have. I think her face mold looks just perfect in that skintone.
Her happy little eyes are a beautiful shade of light golden brown. They look so real. Out of all of the dolls we have, She probably has the prettiest eyes .I love her pretty brushed eyebrows too.
Her hair came pulled up in a hairnet. I was so nervous about removing the hairnet. I almost decided to put the lid back on her box and keep her as "collectable doll" instead of a new girl to play with. I couldn't do it, she was just too pretty to leave all boxed up.
I unfastened her from the box, and carefully removed her hairnet. A cascade of beautiful, glossy, bouncy brown curls fell down to frame her face. WOW.
Her hair has an unbelievable amount of shine to it. While it is not the same silky texture as the straight haired dolls, her hair is still very soft and touchable. It does not feel stiff or crunchy at all.
Right away , I noticed a curl in front that had divided down the center. I was never able to get that back into a single smooth curl again, but I was able to gently separate the single curl into two seperate curls, and with a little water to smooth the curl down, you could not tell it was not supposed to be that way.
Her hair seems to take light handling quite well. I say "light handling" simply because I have never handled her any other way. I suppose, as with any doll, if you really tried, you could ruin her hair. For the most part, I think just being reasonably cautious with her hair will be fine. I guess the main thing to watch out for with AGOT 26 would be velcro that could snag the curls.
I have not used a brush or pick on her hair because I have never had any reason to. It is easy to rearrange her pretty curls with your fingers without using anything else. It is easy to put her hair in a loose ponytail or dog ears, and she never seems any worse for the wear. Her hair seems to spring right back into place.
She has a nice off center part that helps keep her hair tidy too. When her hair needs a little refreshing, I just spritz it with water and scrunch it up a bit with my hands.
I think she would be a fine doll for any adult collector OR any doll loving kid, as long as the child had been given a few pointers about taking care of her curly hair.
I think AGoT 26 should be on everyone's wish list.
