My 15, Janni, is a character whose family is from Kashmir. We are making her a modern girl, but like her to wear cultural dress for special occasions. She is an A- for us because of hair manageability issues. There's a lot of skin tone variation with the medium complected dolls, whom I find to be a challenge to photograph accurately. I know some people worry about dealing with textured hair if they haven't had any experience with it, but this doll is just great to learn on. She only misses being an A for me because of the two hair layers/lack of part, which makes styling a little more challenging. Here is a photo of the two different lengths of hair, which I've exaggerated by making the pulled-back section stand out. When braided, that section blends in better. This doll does not have a part, much like Kailey. In fact, I think of her as Kailey's opposite in terms of coloring, but exactly the same in terms of concept. And of course, they share the original face mold. Her hair is a lot of fun to play with, and goes nicely into up-dos.
