For looks, size and quality I would definitely go for the older sled. But if your main concerns are durability and price then I would get the newer version (plastic may not look as nice, but it is more durable).
I personally own the older sled and really don't like the look of the new one at all, but then I am an adult collector so my dolls don't go mushing much.
