Grecian Princess Costume (2004-2006)

This set includes a dress, crown, armband, necklace, sandals, treat bag and stickers. American Girl really took seriously the problem of velcro snagging outfits with this, there is no regular velcro on it, just snaps and non-snag velcro. The dress is spectacular, it is a wrap style in aqua blue satin with painted on gold Greek square patterns on the hem that go around the entire dress, light aqua blue gauze drapings on the top and a darker aqua blue pleated overskirt that also goes all the way around the dress. It snaps together at the sides and the belt has a little bit of non-snag velcro. I was very impressed at all the detail in the dress and happy that it fit my PM doll. The crown is a stiff gold headband with a movable trim over it that is trimmed in gold coloured coins. It looks beautiful but it is too small for my dolls to wear it the way they are supposed to, poor Kaya had a few strands of hair ripped out by it. The armband is a bit of gauze with gold embroidery to match the hem of the dress, and fastens with non-snag velcro. I have no problems with it being too loose on my PM Felicity, but it does slide down Kaya's arm. The necklace is two strands of gold chain with 3 small gold coins on it, it fastens with a hook and ring. The sandals are gold pleather trimmed with more of the small gold coins down the strap in front and fasten with non-snag velcro, the right sandal is too small for my PM Felicity's foot, I can get it on with some tugging, but it doesn't sit right. The treat bag is holographic silver paper with cord handles and the stickers are some basic Halloween things (ghosts, bats etc.). A-
