I'm glad I got this set even if it didn't (quite) live up to expectation in the umbrella department. It's a very cute set and goes well with the School Outfit, but I was disappointed to find that the umbrella is ALL plastic, even the spokes.
It folds up nicely and has a velcro wrap around tie like the real thing but the plastic spokes are bowed already and I've only had it up once for a few minutes to take photos.
The handle is longer, I suppose so that the umbrella can sit over the dolls' head when she holds it:
I like the plastic strap to help the doll hold her umbrella, but wonder how long it will last. It doesn't seem very substantial.
I didn't have any trouble getting the boots on: the buckle simply came undone and I did it up again afterwards. I can't see the boots fitting on over anything more substantial than leggings though. As for wearing socks with them, not going to happen.
I'd give the set a C for cute.
