This is one of those sets that illustrates perfectly why I buy American Girl and ship it halfway around the world. It is so well done that it gives me goosebumps.
The food is incredibly detailed. My DD observed that the rice krispies looked just like the real thing 'sans stickiness'. I wish AG hadn't stuck those together in twos, surely they are too big individually to be a choking hazard? They didn't clump the Linzer cookies, which are so realistic I can almost taste the jam...
The little chocolates on the other hand, much as I hate clumped food, are so wonderfully realistic that I see very well why AG clumped them!
DD was in raptures over the cupcakes, too. They look very like those for sale in a certain upmarket cake shop in the city.
I love that the cupcakes come out of the liners and that there are two extra liners. They'd be absolutely perfect if the icing was removable, or if there were some without, to be 'coming out of the oven', but that's just being picky, really.
The table itself is just gorgeous, beautifully made and finished. The gate legs and cupboard door operate smoothly and the cupboard is lovely and roomy. Again, if I were being really picky I'd wonder why the towel rail, hooks and cupboard handle (and latch) couldn't have been metal instead of plastic.
I simply adore this set! AAA+
