Someone asked me for pictures of a doll sitting in the chair so here goes. 
Not sure why I didn't think of doing this in my original review.
The chair sits so low to the ground that her lower legs and feet rest on it. I'd be wary of setting the chair in grass that's damp or wet because the chair and the doll clothing/doll itself will get wet.
The doll can sit mostly upright. Devyn's pants are a bit tight so they aren't letting her legs sit correctly in order to keep her from sliding down just a bit.
