I too, second the fact that the lid comes off, and I don't have to move it out from the wall to open it. My trunk is beautiful and fits quite well in our family room without looking like a toy, or even a doll trunk! I have all of Josefina's outfits in it, plus a lot of Kaya's things too. I can't say enough about how wonderfully it works out for me.
