Saige's Picnic Set - $38 Includes: picnic basket, blanket, box with lid, two tamales, guacamole, chips, grapes, bowl, and one water bottle. Julia and Lanie enjoying an indoor picnic - Obviously some of this is not from the set. The set comes with the blanket, basket, box with tamales, guacamole, chips, grapes in bowl, and one water bottle. The bottle that came with this set is next to the bowl of grapes. The other bottles are AG and they are all the same size. Tamales are stuck together, but not to the basket, and the grapes are not stuck to the bowl. I really like this set. It's very detailed and has a lot of play value. My son is 4, and he really likes anything with tiny accessories. He went with me to the store, and this is what he decided we needed to get. His other top choices were the new breakfast set, and the science set, but this won out. I give it an A.

The basket is junk. Our first one was loose, so we exchanged it for another one, also loose. We then returned the set completely. For almost $40 they could have made that set better quality.

I just received my picnic set today, and I am happy with it. The handle on the basket is actually really secure. I just took a second look at it when I opened this thread to be sure. So I think you just got a bum one, and should exchange it.

Mine is loose too, but not falling off. I think it's the way it's made.

Ok - I went and got mine. It is manufactured in such a way that it is supposed to be loose. It has a loop at the end of the handle that goes around the inside top of the basket.
It has some give!! If it didn't and you gave this to a child it could easily break. Every time a child would put something in the basket it could press upon the handle. If stationary it could pop off - but because it moves slightly it will not.
Try and think of this as a positive and not a negative. These are the little quality extras AG puts in their items that are sometimes overlooked - and many times misunderstood.

MY picnic basket handle is loose, but secure, if that makes sense. It isn't in danger of being detached from the base of the basket.

I like the set, but found it expensive for what it contained. An extra water bottle and another piece of something so that it could be for two, would have made me feel it was almost worth the price. I bought it to support AG accessories for the dolls which seem to be dwindling and also because I love the food sets and baskets. I have the Fiesta Set for the MyAGs and it can work well with that, I think. I also did not want to regret not getting this LE item.
Actually if you found a basket somewhere similar in size and had the Fiesta set, with a few home made napkins, you would be in good shape for a similar set up for far less. I kind of wish I'd done that. I give this set a C, solid.

Sam helps me showcase Saige's Picnic Set. I recently got mine off eBay MIB, and my basket was also loose. So I suspect this is a design feature. Because it's made of real wicker, I don't think this would hold up to heavy play. The food items are cute. Though how would she transport the avocado without getting it everywhere? Lol I would recommend the set for adults or older kids. Grade: B
