Kit's Chicken-Keeping Set Kit knows you should never count your chickens before they hatch—she learned that from Aunt Millie. Your girl can help Kit chase troublesome hens around the coop with this set: Blue checked overalls with a shaped waistband and crisscross straps with pink buttons A button-down floral shirt A matching hairbow Buckled brown shoes A cute little plush chicken with an embroidered face and a soft weighted body to help her sit upright
This outfit is just too cute. I love everything about it. The pink buttons on the bib are functional, though the floral blouse itself closes in front with velcro. The fabric hairpiece was easy to slip on with the elastic gathered band. The fabric of the overalls is not only pretty but interesting to touch--it is lightweight and pleasant while also feeling slightly coarse.
The back of the overalls fits a bit baggy, but with the shape of AG doll backsides, I think this is almost unavoidable. The button here are non-functional (velcro closure).
Shoes are perfect. They slip on and off easily and close with velcro under the buckle.
The plush chicken really makes the set (more chicken closeups on my blog), my only wish would be for more chickens! And a coop! And an egg gathering basket and little eggs!
I like this set - cute design, nice colors and fabric, but wish that for $48 AG would have made the buttons on the blouse functional. I think that would be a nice touch for these special edition, more highly priced sets. My other issue is with the overalls. I put mine on a modern doll and they are way too big and baggy (all around - not just the butt). In fact. the straps on the overalls could be 1/4-1/2" shorter. Just a caution in case you are thinking of putting this on a slimmer doll. No issues with the shoes or headband, and love the chicken (though a few eggs would have been nice)! Overall, I'd give it a B+

I give it an A+. Seems to be historically accurate, I've looked up 1930s woman/girls overalls and there are several patterns that look similar. The overalls themselves match a lot of other shirts(I like her school blouse with them), or even without one for a more playsuit look I don't normally want Kit clothes for my Kit, They just don't seem like MY Kit. But this is my favourite outfit out of my new clothes. My Kit is an old one from 2001, She's quite plump and they fit her perfect. All the pieces seem thick and well made. I do wish the whole thing was buttons, But the velcro isn't too annoying. I adore the little chicken, I named mine Betsy. Betsy is awesome and has her own character in my doll family now. Only complaint, I do like the shoes that came with. But I wish they would've been boots. makes more sense if you're working on a farm
