This outfit was released in 2017.
Nanea has been taking hula lessons from her grandmother since she was 4 years old, and she loves the rich and beautiful tradition. This set includes: A red top, A faux-ti-leaf skirt that rustles like the sounds of real hula skirts, A lei po'o that she wears on her head, A yellow lei made of faux plumeria bloom; Nanea made it herself before her performance, Two kupe'e leis she wears on her wrists, Two 'uli'uli, pretend feathered gourds she holds and shakes for rhythm during the dance.
Nanea's hula outfit is a super fun outfit. It can be worn in different ways. It comes with a "strapless" red dress with little white flowers. It has clear straps to help hold it up and falls above her knee. You can see the clear straps , unless the lei is covering it. At first I thought I was going to break them, but I got it on. I love to put this on Nanea without the skirt. It is fun to pair it with a little jacket. It also includes a faux leaf skirt. The material is very thin and is like a coated papery material. I'm no fabric material expert, but it feels weird. It is pretty sturdy though. When I first put it on, I didn't realize there was velcro in the back, and thought I broke it when I tried putting it on. It also includes three different sized leis a big one for her neck, medium for her head, and two small ones for her wrists or ankles. They are yellow flowers with red beads in between. The one for her head has different beads than the other two. The one for her head was a little tight, but the others were easy to get on. Lastly, this set includes two pretend gourds. They are made out of plastic and rubber. They have a clear plastic handle, so your doll can hold them. They are a bit heavy for her arms, so you have to position them in a specific way or else they fall down. They are solid on the top, and do not make any noise. I believe they are the same as Kanani's but in red and yellow.
WARNING- Left the headpiece on for a couple of days and the beads left indentations on her head!!!
Overall, this set is very cute and seems like a great set! For the most part, it seems pretty sturdy and good for child play. I like that it can be worn in multiple different looks.
