Well this suit is super cool and very realistic (in looks I mean, I've never actually worn a space suit so wouldn't know about the specifics too much!). After watching a video posted on this board from youtube, I was scared to get this outfit b/c it seemed too complicated to get on... it is not. I did glance at the instructions that come with it for my first time putting it on, but I don't think I'll need them again. Now, my children will likely need my assistance with it, but I don't mind. Basically it goes suit first, then boots and gloves, then attach the helmet to the back of the pack and lay the doll down on top of that. Then snap on the front to the back! Really it's that easy. I may not have done it perfectly the first time, but will know for next time. This space suit is really something! I was expecting it to be very nice and realistic looking and it is I think!

I absolutely agree with hand2016 . I would only add that attaching the front panel was much easier when the helmet shield is completely down first otherwise the panel keeps popping off. I am so excited and pleased with this space suit that I am seriously thinking about picking up another!

It's really an incredible item!! All of the pieces are very high quality, though, I do wish the buttons on the front panel did something. I think that's my main gripe--the front panel is just molded plastic. But otherwise, this suit is amazing!

How well can the doll move with the suit on and helmet and front unit in place?

Ok so I have to say I absolutely love this space suit. And I definitely feel it’s worth every penny I spent. However the gloves and boots have latex. And buyer beware!! I’m allergic to it and found out the hard way that these have latex on them. However if I review just the product ignoring that issue I give it a A+ it’s heavily detailed. It’s heavy period. The quality of this is no joke. It’s very high quality. The suit is lined and balloons out. The gloves and boots fit snug and are made out of rubber/latex coating that is like the real thing. The clear cover of the helmet retracts and goes down easily. There’s lots of tiny details that really add to this piece. Like the little wrist mirror because real astronauts wear those too. The booklet explaining how to put the pack on. And the booklet that explains what every piece of the suit is and what it does/is for. For me this set screams high quality. And I love it! I won’t be returning it. And if I ever have to take my doll out of it I will ask my husband or my best friend to do it for me. http://instagram.com/p/BfR2Yl6AzL2

I helped a friend who works at ILC Dover in their Space Division purchase this Space Suit for her American Girl, Molly. She got her Molly all dressed up and took her to work today. The staff were delighted to see the American Girl rendition of something they actually design and create at their location! With her (and ILC Dover's) permission here is her photograph of Miss Molly meeting an employee testing out a completed Suit before shipping. She says that many engineers were checking out the suit, interested in sharing the doll/outfit with other co-workers and very impressed by the intricate details. They were also impressed with the 'homework' done to complete the Space Suit Manual. Kudos to American Girl!
