I purchased this set in November 2016 as a birthday gift for myself.
The chair appears to be the same as the one included in the Beach Chair & Bag (2008) and the Chair & Bocce Set (2011) (only in a different color). I like that it is made of real metal and canvas and has a nice weight to it. Another cute thing is that it folds down for easy storage. In my opinion the dolls look very awkward when seated in it. Unless viewed from the side, you can’t really see the chair when the doll is in it. On a positive note, this could be a good thing when taking photos. You can use it when you want your doll to sit upright when there is nothing behind her to prop her up.
The real-working campfire or fire pit is my favorite part of the set. It is similar to the one included in the Seaside Accessories (2005), Campfire & Treats (2009), and Kaya’s Tepee. This one features two buttons. The first button turns on the fire. The second button interchangeably turns on the ‘crackling fire’ and ‘forest’ sounds’. It uses 3 AA batteries. I think it is a great piece and can be used for either a historical or modern setting.
The accessories include a stick w/ marshmallows for roasting; a s’more; a plate; a pie iron that really opens; 2 cherry pie halves; and a water bottle. These in my opinion are very well made. I just wish they would’ve included another s’more and plate.
I think it’s worth the $42 price and would recommend it. I give it an A.
