Whether she’s tumbling, doing stunts, or jumping on the trampoline, Joss loves flipping through the air and being part of a team. Outfit includes:
Stretchy black leggings with contrast stitching that allow her to do cheer jumps with ease
A sports top with a cheer graphic she wears to practice
A silver-print tank top that ties at the back
Slip-on sandals with the Nfinity® logo to wear to and from practice
A headband she can wear to keep her hearing aid from falling out when she’s doing stunts

I bought this outfit mainly because of the leggings. They’re mostly black with a little panel of turquoise on each leg and some turquoise and lime green stitching. They’re made of a nice stretchy material and the fit, design, and stitching look so much like what’s really worn for working out (or hanging out) every day, that I couldn’t resist getting them for Joss. Grade: A+
The sports top is cute enough. It’s turquoise in color, with double black straps that crisscross in the back. There’s a bit of lime green stitching and the word “CHEER” is also written in lime green (with a faint, darker turquoise shadow). It fits well, and it closes with Velcro under one arm to make putting it on and taking it off easier. Grade: A-
The main thing that I don’t like about this outfit, in case anyone missed it in the above photos, is that Joss’s great big body tag is just above the pants and below the sports top, so it doesn’t tuck easily into either! (Once you see it, you can't unsee it - Sorry!)
The tank top is semi-sheer turquoise with a silver star print. It closes with Velcro in the back and has long tails to tie in a knot. I think this piece is just okay; I don’t really like it but don’t dislike it either. Grade: B
The sandals look great and are very authentic to what a lot of kids wear before and after sports practice. They’re thick black plastic slide sandals with the white logo on the top. They were one of my favorite parts of the outfit until I realized that without the clear strap that so many sandals come with, they tend to fall off easily. In the book, Joss wears "cheer shoes" (sneakers) during practice, and I do kind of wish the outfit came with both, but I suppose that would be asking too much. Grade: B+
The lime green headband looks great with the rest of this outfit, and it does a good job of holding Joss’s hair back and her hearing aid in. It’s about a centimeter thick and nice and stretchy. For what it's worth, the book says the headband is yellow rather than lime green, but I think this color looks really good with the stitching and the other parts of the outfit. The book also explains that the headband is not part of the regular practice outfit; it's specifically an accommodation for Joss after her hearing aid falls out during a stunt, so it's nice that this ties in so well with her story. Grade: A+
Overall, I think this outfit has its flaws (I'm looking at you, body tag hanging out of the middle), but I still like it a lot. Overall I think I’d give the outfit a B at full price, even though some of the individual pieces would rate higher.
Here's one more picture with the coordinating practice jacket that's sold separately:
