This outfit was part of a 2018 BeForever release originally available through Costco and later available online. It was retired in 2019.
This cute set includes: A top with a sweet print that reminds Molly to write letters to Dad while he's overseas serving his country, A pair of matching pants with mailboxes, letters, and hearts, Fuzzy blue slippers to keep her feet warm while she listens to radio broadcasts in her living room.
These PJs were originally sold as part of the 2018 Costco bundle that included the Molly doll and her BeForever meet outfit, before eventually being sold online as a separate item. I bought them after retirement for $20 on Amazon, which I think was close to AG’s retail price. There are some things I don’t like about the set and lots of things I do like, and overall I think they are well worth the price and I give them a solid A.
The PJs are made out of a lightweight fabric in a really nice shade of blue. The print is hard to make out from a distance, but up close you can more clearly see the black-outlined envelopes that are sealed with white, black, and dark pink hearts. There are also some scattered white stars and some dark pink and black mailboxes in the design. (The mailboxes are a little abstract, but they look like open mailboxes with upright flags.)
The design is interesting and I like the colors and the connection to Molly’s stories. What I don’t like about the fabric is that it was wrinkled right out of the box, and I think it will be likely to wrinkle just by looking at it wrong - not a great choice for PJs, and annoying that it will take some careful folding to keep them looking nice. (For those of you with Nanea, it seems just like the fabric of her meet blouse.)
The cut and style of the PJs is really cute. The top has a basic collar and three navy buttons down the front with real buttonholes (no Velcro in sight).
The short sleeves have some gathers where they meet the bodice, giving them a slightly puffed look.
The pajama bottoms are ankle length and have a nice, loose fit. There is a flat waist band in front which is gathered with elastic in the back, and there are real pockets on both sides, trimmed with navy ribbon.
The little oval plastic AG tag is attached just above one of the pants pockets.
The slippers are very fuzzy and indigo colored. The fuzzy part is just on the top, however; the soles are thin plasticky fabric so as easy to balance on as bare feet.
Overall, I think these jammies are really cute and a good buy, even with the wrinkle-prone fabric. I wish they came in adult sizes, too.
