Dress: A +
I’ve always loved turtleneck dresses, so my eye was immediately drawn to this when the Winter 2020 Mix and Match set was released. It’s made of a smooth, light purple velvet with a sequined snowflake in the centre. The snowflake is so fun and sparkly! It’s a very simple dress – essentially just a tube with cap sleeves and a faux turtleneck – but I love the sleek look of it. The hem hits a bit above the doll’s knees, making it appropriate for either a dress on its own or as a top to be paired with a skirt.
It opens in the back wit non-snag Velcro for easy dressing. Nia is a PC girl, yet it’s cut roomily enough for her to fit easily…it even looks form fitting on her! Whatever magic has been done with this, I imagine that it would work on both PC and more recent dolls – it’s very flattering.
I do really wish that AG would stop putting the plastic tags on the front of everything…

Good Value?
Maybe it’s because I don’t buy the Mix and Match pieces very reliably, but I was kind of shocked when I turned the package over at the AG Store in Columbus and saw that this was $16. I don’t know, It just seems high for a simple dress and I feel like I haven’t paid this much for other Mix and Match items I’ve purchased over the years. The quality is good, so no complaints there, the price just seemed a little high to me.
Overall: A+
I knew I had to get this when I saw it on launch day. It’s simple, but darling! Despite the short sleeves and length, it feels perfect for winter…especially if paired with something else. I maybe wish it had been a little cheaper, but that doesn’t hamper my enjoyment of the piece. It looks amazing on Nia!
On it's own.
With other items from the Mix and Match set. As an aside, it's difficult to photograph the colour of this!
