When a bush fire threatens the animal sanctuary, Kira helps evacuate the animals to safety. At the last minute before they have to leave, she rescues a baby wallaby who has escaped. She can take care of it with this set that includes:
A plush wallaby joey just like the one Kira saves from the bush fire
A multicolored striped pouch she can wear over one shoulder that simulates the safety of its mother's pouch
A bottle she can use to feed the baby wallaby

The Wallaby Care Set was released in stores the first week of April and online shortly thereafter. While I’m still trying to resist the temptation to get Kira, Gabriela is helping out with the set today.
It comes with three pieces: the bag, wallaby, and bottle.
The bag is a crossbody pouch that fits easily over one shoulder with a piece of Velcro, although I think it would also work without the Velcro. It has a colorful blue, orange, and purple stripe pattern that goes well with the rest of Kira’s collection. (Gabby is wearing it with the purple top from Kira’s Wildlife Care Outfit and Joss’s shorts.) The inside of the pouch is lined with cozy soft cotton fabric, and the whole thing is roomy enough for the joey, bottle, and probably some extras. Grade: A (it’s cute and functional and the lining is a nice touch).
The wallaby joey is super soft, with brown and white “fur”, and a cute, inquisitive expression that makes me want to have him look outside of the pouch even though there’s plenty of room for him to snuggle down inside of it. That said, his front half is his better half, in my opinion. He does have back legs and a tail and can stand up easily on his own, but these are pretty simple without much detail. I’d give the wallaby joey a B.
The bottle is cute and made of hard plastic, with measurements on one side. I think kids may have fun playing with it, although I was a little disappointed that there’s no way for a doll to hold the bottle without resting it on something. AG has gotten better about including functional handles on some things, but not this. I’d give it a C keeping both the pros and cons in mind.
Overall I think this is a cute accessory set that works well with Kira’s story and probably has some good play value. I feel like the purchase price is a little steep given some of the limitations, but if purchased with rewards or on sale (if it ever goes on sale) for about $15-20, I’d give it an A.
