That’s amore! What’s not to love about this set of accessories inspired by Italy that include:
- A woven straw circle purse with a shoulder strap and zip top, with “Ciao!” embroidered on the front
- A serving of lemon gelato with a strawberry on top in a pretty dish, plus a tiny spoon to enjoy it with
- A set of three Italian postcards
- A sheet of travel stickers—girls can follow the instructions in the images above to craft a pretend doll passport at home!
SKU#: GWB68 $18
Like the other souvenir sets, it comes in an excessive amount of plastic packaging - plastic clamshell inside a plastic bag.
The purse is nice. The straw is flexible enough that it doesn't feel fragile. It closes with a zipper with a gold-colored metal pull, and has a brown leather-like shoulder strap. The front has "Ciao!" embroidered on it in turquoise thread that matches the dress. It's difficult to keep it from sliding off the doll's shoulder. Here it is on a doll:
The gelato, the strawberry on top, and the cup it's in are all plastic and all clumped in one piece. It bothers me that the turquoise color of the gelato cup is an exact match to the color of her dress and accessories. Why would her take-out cup match her outfit? The spoon is purple plastic.
The postcards are thick cardboard. The backs have Italy-themed stamps printed on, with space to write a message and an address. The sticker sheet has passport stickers for arrival and departure.
I like the purse from this set, and it looks nice with the dress, but it doesn't stay on the doll's shoulder very well. The gelato is nothing special. Overall, I give this set a C.
