This Muslim holiday, meaning Festival of Breaking Fast in Arabic, comes at the end of Ramadan, a holy month of prayer and fasting. It's a joyous time for families to give gifts, especially to those in need. The celebration set includes:
A long-sleeved turquoise abaya dress with embroidery at the bodice and sleeves
A one-piece pink hijab with rhinestones on the front
A pair of blue cotton jersey leggings to wear under the abaya
A pair of gold sandals with elastic at the heels
Two beaded gold bracelets on elastic
A gold envelope that holds five pretend $1 bills
A booklet that highlights five different cultural celebrations
$36.00
I am very happy that AG has finally at least recognized Islam. It's taken a LONG time to get to this point. To support, I had to get this. I hope that they will do an updated one yearly. The quality though, is ok. It's not bad. But it's not great. The abaya and hijab are this weird neoprene? The fabric is thick and stretchy like my lunch box. Very weird. The embroidery is actually embroidered at least. I do find it weird that the outfit description does not include the leggings, when my understanding is that the abaya just refers to the dress-type piece? The sandals and bracelets are cute. The hijab should have came with a cap to tuck all the doll hair in, because just a pony and a loose bun did not cut it and kept falling out the back. The envelope and bills are paper. The booklet could be better.
