This outfit was released at Kira’s debut and was retired in 2022. Here’s a description as well as additional photos and thoughts about the different pieces.
GVF47 $36
Kira loves hanging out on the veranda of the Bailey Wildlife Sanctuary, having tea with her mom, Aunt Mamie, and Auntie Lynette, where they can watch the kangaroos graze and the emus beg for treats. This outfit is perfect for relaxing and includes:
A white tee with a graphic of Australian landmarks on the front - This is a basic white knit tee, with a single strip of Velcro up the back and a fun graphic on the front. The graphic shows a general map of Australia and some of its attractions. I appreciate the geography angle, and I think the color palette would make this shirt pair well with Kira’s meet skirt. Grade: B+
A light-purple twill vest that buttons in front and adds a little layer of warmth when the sun goes down - This has some nice details, like the silver buttons on the flap pockets and down the front of the vest, and it’s made of a sturdy twill. However, the buttonholes are faux, so it can’t really be buttoned, and I think I’d prefer a jacket with sleeves instead of a vest. The “light-purple” is a perfect match to the pink bucket hat that comes with Kira’s Adopt Don’t Shop Outfit. Grade: C+
A long, woven wraparound tie-dyed skirt - This lightweight skirt looks cute on Kira and is easy to put on with the simple wraparound style and Velcro fastener on the side. The tie dye is more of a blue pastel crumple pattern than the darker, more starkly contrasting fan pattern of her Adopt Don’t Shop shirt, and the softer color is complemented by a ruffle that goes all along the edge of the skirt and up the side where it wraps around. I’m including one photo of the skirt closed, and another with the front piece folded open to see the construction. Grade: B
A knotted headband with a multicolored print - This cloth headband has a purple, green, and yellow pattern, similar to the sandals in Kira’s Comfy Camping Outfit. I don’t have it any longer, but will add photos later if I find some.
A pair of light-purple fabric sandals she wears so she doesn’t have to worry about stepping on spiders - I’m generally not a fan of thong-type sandals on AG feet, but I think these are pretty well made. They’re lightweight, but I like the thick soles, the texture on the bottom, and how well they work with Kira’s collection. The buckles are for show only; they close with Velcro under the buckle. Grade: B+
Overall, I think this outfit has several cute pieces which can be worn together and also provide for some good mix and match options with other parts of Kira’s collection. I give it an overall C at the original retail price, but would raise it to a B if purchased on sale or with rewards for closer to $25.
