Goodness, this set is as cute in person as it is in the catalogue. I'll add pictures later, but the camera's charging now. Green shirt: very cute. I love the green color. My only complaint is that the seams attaching the sleeves to the body make it look a little bit like it's inside out. It seems sturdy, and like it will be pretty versatile for me. Jumper: Cute cute cute. It does sit a little lower than her chest in person than it does in my head. There's lighter purple vertical stripes on it that I didn't notice in the catalogue. The bow on the lacing is tacked down so you can't untie it, but the loops are real, so you could adjust it so it's tight in the chest and loose in the waist if that tickles your funny bones. Boots: They're using a plasticy velcro that I haven't seen before. I like it - it seems less likely to accidentally catch on delicate things like tights. I worried I'd have trouble getting Willow to stand in them, but it wasn't hard. (Josefina, who's floppier, might have some issues.) Other than that, these aren't that exciting. They're boots, what do you want? Hair clips: I'm not crazy about clips that hold about three strands of hair, either for dolls or for myself. They're cute, though, for what they are - they have both purples and greens in them so they look great with the outfit. Overall: A. Worth $26? Hmmm. I wish AG's prices hadn't gone up, but they have. I think this is one of the nicer outfits that you'll get for that money and I like all the parts to it. Would buy again. I really like both pieces as mix and match. The jumper goes well with a couple other blouses I have: *mod edit to remove dead image linka*

I just got this outfit in the mail today as well. I have to say, I don't like it as much as I thought I would. The outfit itself is really cute, but the boots are junk. Its difficult to get a doll to stand properly in them. They can't stand straight, else they tip forward. So they have to stand leaning back to compensate for the heel, or have to stand awkwardly like I have my #25 in the photo above. Honestly, I think the boots are even worse looking in person than they are on the website. And I tried some different shoes out from the slim selection of shoes that I own -- The boots from the Santa Baby Helper Outfit and the shoes from Ivy's New Year Outfit The jumper and shirt are really great pieces. The jumper is a grape-y purple fabric that looks sort of like muslin, but a bit thicker. The pinstripes are a very light purple. And I want to say that theres pink undertones in it, because it almost fooled me at first glance into thinking the stripes were pink. The laced-up part reminds me of a shoe lace with the aglets cut off. Its laced up and tied in a bow at the top, with the bow stitched down. However, I think the stitches could be picked out and the cording replaced if one so wishes to do so. It closes in the back with heavy snag-happy Velcro. I think the jumper looks pretty good on its own, without a shirt underneath -- which was how I intended to use it. But it also matches well with the pink shirt from the Petals and Plaid Outfit. The shirt is a great basic. Its a sage green with darker top-stitching at the wrists, shoulders, and bottom hem. It fits closely, and could make for a great layering piece, because it uses the flatter, low-snag Velcro as a fastener in the back. Its hard to pull the bottom part of the sleeve over the hands though, since the top-stitching doesn't allow for the fabric to stretch. The shirt might look good with the Pretty Print Outfit -- the green matches with the leaves in the shirt from that outfit, and likely the skirt as well. I can't find my skirt to the Pretty Print outfit, but I'm sure I will when I re-organize my closet. The shirt is a very good length, which I'm surprised about. A lot of the tops I've seen, and a lot of tops in the sewing patterns I own are very short -- and make AG dolls look very short-waisted. I love how the shirt looks with the jeans from the School Days Outfit. And the second picture example below isn't a serious example, its just to show that the shirt can be layered without a doll looking like a burrito. I'm not going to review the book or the clips -- books are almost always reprints from American Girl Magazine; and the clips, I likely will never use. Grade: B+If the boots didn't have heels and they were black and non-patent, the outfit would have gotten more love. I'll seek out those non-AG Gothy McGoth boots I've seen about, along with some stockings.

I have had no problem with my Mia standing with her boots. However, because of the color of the boots-I just don't care for them. My Mia has been able to stand on the coffee table since yesterday evening (even with the cats running around) with the boots on. Here are the pics:

My Mia has been able to stand on the coffee table since yesterday evening (even with the cats running around) with the boots on. Hm. I think its my #25. I keep thinking she has wonky legs because it takes more work to get her to stand than my other dolls. I think one of her legs might be longer than the other. Ah well. I did get my #26 and Ivy to stand just fine in them though. But I still hate the boots. But I hate them less when they're on Mia. I have to admit. Mia looks fantastic in this outfit. It's like it was made for her! It just doesn't seem to look as great on dark-haired dolls, in my opinion.

Here's a photo of Luna in the outfit: I absolutely love the jumper - it's working really well with Luna's kooky wardrobe. After I took pictures I put her in a yellow tank top and yellow/orange/purple striped tights and it still looks really sweet and quirky. I like how well it mixes and matches with other pieces. I do have to agree with Quirked about the boots - it is impossible to get a doll to stand up straight in them. But I really like the way they look - but then I'm just glad Luna can have a new pair of Wellingtons.

I quite like this outfit, but the boots are odd. I did mix and match this outfit a bit to see what it would look like with other combos, here is what I came up with-

Farmhouse girl, I like the white combo you made!
I got the jumper outfit today at AGPLA and Cadence has tried it on. No problem getting her to stand IF I turn her feet inwards a bit. They don't look to unnatural, but any other leg position will cause her to fall over.

I finally put this outfit on Lise today. And as I hoped, it looks absolutely beautiful. The design of the jumper makes it look like she has an hourglass figure- which can be a pro or a con depending on how old your doll's character is. The jumper itself is adorable. The shirt is well built and designed- plus the shade of green actually looks nicer on 25 than what one would expect. The hair clips are strong enough. I did not put the boots on my doll- but the outfit looks just as cute with purple socks and black Mary Janes. A+++++

My Mia doll must be a fatty mcfatty because the jumper doesn't fit her very well at all. It looks fantastic, though, except for how it seems to be too small. I was surprised when I got it, but I shouldn't have been, that the purple color is more of a red-purple than a blue-purple. I think that's why a lot of us have been wary of the green shirt underneath. It matches fairly well with the purple AGB Butterfly T-shirt, though, if you have that and want to use it. However, like I said, my Marelise is fat and the jumper barely fastens over that tee or the green one it came with: Also, the boots seem to be a bit off in color, not quite the same as the jumper. But they look really good under khaki or denim, if you have any. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of them with my khaki cords, so you'll just have to take my word on it.

A+! I received several outfits in the mail this week, and this is absolutely my favorite. The dark green hues of the shirt look just perfect with Mia's eye color, with and without the jumper. It's great as a separate piece.
The lacing on the jumper is beautiful, I love the plum color of it. It's also versatile. I have several long-sleeved tees that would look great with the jumper. It is a little tight, especially on Mia dolls, because they're sort of chubby, but the Velcro does still close. The other cool things about it are the pinstripes, which make it a more interesting piece, and the slight slant to the straps, which is just plain cute.
The shoes aren't the best, but they do go well with this particular outfit. They close in the back with Velcro, so they're nice and easy to get on. The stitching adds some color diversity, so that's nice. The heels on the boots are a little annoying, but my dolls can still stand up in them without too much trouble.
The hair clips that came with it are my new favorite hair accessory. They're small and probably pretty easy to lose, but they're great for pinning tiny ribbons of hair up. The coloring matches the outfit perfectly, but it could go with anything. And it works even on dolls with short hair.

I love the jumper and blouse. The top is really versatile... agreed that it looks AMAZING on Mia. I like the jumper as well. This, I think, looks best on girls with brown eyes (as purple so often does). The fabric feels nice, and the lacing is wonderful. It's a really nice detail, and I don't think I'd like the set as much without that. The boots are evil. I never use mine... I'm not a fan of hateful purple boots. The jumper is tight on PM dolls, but it will close with enough... elbow grease, shall we say? (Sounds a little better than brute force.)

This outfit is very pretty and smart looking. And very very well made. The colors are beautiful together. I would have never thought to pair them, but they are great. The shirt is versatile as well. I love the clips, and the boots are okay. They do match the outfit, I'll give them that. I don't really like the book. I didn't like "The Parsley Problem" when I read it in AG magazine as a kid, and I still don't care for it much, but I think some kids would enjoy it. A solid A.

I love this outfit - if only for the awesome green long-sleeved shirt and purple jumper. The clips are a nice addition, although I haven't used them. The boots I could live without. They seem cute enough, but I don't like how they have heels, and they seem to be the wrong color. I wish they were black! I actually pair the jumper with the old school doc martens just because I think they look better. Grade: A - (because of the boots) The jumper (paired with a black AGP shirt, JLY knee socks, AGT doc martens -from Red Vinyl Jumper) The shirt used in a mix'n'match:

...This came with hair clips?? Mine didn't! Maybe they ran out, since the outfit was sold out online before I bought mine at AGPLA... still, grrr. Anyway, I love this outfit, but I don't like the parts together. I am of the opinion that purple and green look too Barneyesque, but the green shirt looks amazing on my hazel-eyed dolls, and I really like how cute the purple dress and boots are too. But I wish mine had come with hairclips!

Tell me how cool the stitching on the boots is. The answer is "very cool".

I've wanted this outfit for a really long time, but it always seems to go for a lot on ebay. I got lucky and found it and another outfit I've wanted in a lot for a pretty reasonable price. I love it and it does have a lot of mix and match potential! I think this looks particularly great on the hazel eyed dolls. *mod edit to remove broken image link*

Feels a bit weird reviewing an old outfit, But here I am because I was reminded by how much I love this outfit while I was cleaning out the doll wardrobe.
This was and still is my only modern doll outfit from AG. Bought this in 2009 with Sonali. And it's amazing. The hairclips have been lost in time, I don't miss them. This has held up very well, all of my dolls(Even historicals at one point) have worn this for weeks on end. I agree it looks good with almost any t-shirt or blouse. My favourite combination was Sonali's green shirt with it, But sadly I can't do that anymore because she has moved on from me now(I need to make my own). I amazingly have not lost the shoes for this outfit(Nearly all my old childhood outfits have lost shoes because I hate shoes so my dolls did for a long time...) they're very boot-like? My dolls do end up falling sometimes with them on, But they're cute anyway.
So A+ from me
