This outfit is worn by Addy in the book A Heart Full of Hope. Released in 2008, retired in 2015.
On special occasions, Addy is sure to choose this beautiful dress. Handmade by Momma with love, it features a full skirt with ribbon trim and puffed sleeves. For the finishing touch, Momma decorates Addy’s hat with fabric flowers and a piece of ribbon she saved from Mrs. Ford’s dress shop.
This is a lovely light weight dress. It fits my WB Kirsten perfectly. I love the color. The sleeves have elastic.

Addy's Sunday Best Grade = A Dress - precious style and the color looks great. Seems to fit Ruby (Mia) a little tight. Hat - seems to be made of some stiff felt like material. Mine was totally bent around the rim. Also, the lid would barely close on the box.

Original retail $28. Nice write-up there, AG. This dress has no connection with any of the outfits in Addy's books, but AG at least took pains to fit it into her life. But hey, we need some photos of Addy wearing this dress! I have to admit that this dress has grown on me. I have a large Addy collection, and my first reaction to this outfit was that I didn't need it since I had OOAK pieces that I liked better. However, after I created my own version of Addy's best friend Sarah Moore, I decided I could make room for this outfit, since more dolls = more dresses. Gotta love that logic, right? I'm glad I got it. The dress seems simple enough but is very pretty, and fits my transitional Addy well. As is true of most of Addy's clothing, the cage crinoline from Addy's undies set won't fit under the circumference of the skirt. I think that's a shame in this instance because the dress itself is meant to be special, and the cage crinoline would have added to the formality to set it apart from an everyday outfit. The dress fabric is a patterned cotton and I like the bodice detailing. The dress does not have a growth tuck, but it does have a nifty piece of fabric trim where the growth tuck might have gone. It was common for mothers to add a piece of fancy trim over the seam when they let down a growth tuck, so I rather like to imagine that is what Mrs. Walker did here. The hat is stiff and has sweet flowers and matching ribbons. The actual brim was folded up for shipping, but easily folded down into place. Some of AG's hat ribbon ties are so slippery as to be impractical, but this one works fine. Bodice detail: Hat: From the back. Heh, gotta love the AG sticker on the hat. Fluff out the back of your skirt there, Addy. I remember reading that someone thought the dress matched Ida Bean's dress. Nice theory but, no. My only quibble with this outfit is that the neckline is not sewn down. I'm not normally particular about little things, but in this case the seam sometimes flips up. That wouldn't happen if it was finished properly. I know I can iron it down, but at $28 for a doll dress I don't think I should have to right out of the box. Annoying seam: Poor quality finishing and not fitting over the cage crinoline lowers my grade to a B ++. Those things aside, I'd definitely encourage any Addy collector to get this outfit, since it is so rare for AG to give Addy anything new.

I actually liked this dress much more than I expected I would. My Addy is late PM, and this fits fine on her. The color is a really lovely purple. This looks like something a slightly older girl would wear, which is something I liked about the historical outfits that came out with this batch. The hat is really cute and good if your Addy is looking to wear this to church. I don't have pics, but E of A did a thorough job with her's. A- from me.

I bought this just becasue I saw it in the store and liked the color on Addy. Not as full as some of the older dresses. Hat is not real sturdy and my ribbon band is not tacked down at all so it seems a little bigger than the brim. No specail details and I do miss the litte extra touches. B+ for color and it fits my older Addy.

I am very pleased with the fit of this dress. I was a little worried when I saw the pics on the AG website with an emaciate, wasp waited Addy wearing it. The cut is good and my pm Addy can wear hoops under the skirt, so the fit is generous enough for sturdy pm bodies. Elastic in the sleeves I am not so happy about for historical accuracy purposes. Love the hat's shape and fit.

I'll agree with other posters. The colors look fantastic on Addy. I was not particularly excited about getting this dress at first, but I am so glad that I did. Addy looks just great!

I like the colors and print of the dress. Too bad the hat is a bit cheap, the brim was already bent out of the box. Wish it came with shoes.

Another favorite outfit over here. It's one of Molly's favorites, even though it's way out of date for her. Hey, she likes to play dress up! Anyway, this dress looks fabulous on any of my dolls, PM included. Like the others, I had a bit of trouble with the hat, especially it being bent right out of the box. It was easy to bend back, though, and it certainly looks darling. My only quibble with this outfit is that the neckline is not sewn down. I'm not normally particular about little things, but in this case the seam sometimes flips up. Ugh, I have that problem too. I've ironed it down though, so it works with me now.

I bought this outfit on sale this week and it arrived yesterday. The hat is dented in on the top part and I can't manipulate it back in place. They're small dents, not major, but it still bothers me.
The dress is also pretty wrinkled. I suspect it has been sitting in the box for a while but the box top doesn't even close all the way (proabbly the hat was smooshed over time).
I called CS this morning and they are sending out the hat as a replacement part. Hopefully this hat will arrive without the dents.

We were at an AG store yesterday and looked at three of these outfits. One dress was fine, with no wrinkles, the second dress looked like it had been walked on it was so wrinkled, and the third dress had the lining bent up into the neck area (not sure if this could be fixed with patience and an iron, but we had no luck getting it to stay down.) The hats were all different as well. The first one fit very well, but the top was very creased as if it had been dented multiple times and someone had pushed the dents back out. The second one would not stay on the doll's head even with the ribbons tied, it seemed to be a completely different size and shape from the first one. The third one fit okay, though not as nice as the first one had, and the crown was very twisted. We lost heart at this point and didn't bother looking at a fourth outfit. It is a super cute set, though, so someday if I am back at the store when it isn't so crowded, perhaps I will try again. The thing that struck my dh and I the most about this experience was the disparities between the sets. AG's quality control just doesn't seem as good as it used to be.

I ordered mine the day it was released- the hat is uncrushed and un-dented.

My friend ordered the Sunday Best outfit and hers had a dent, too. She's exchanging it. These dents must be a recent manufacturing issue, because I got mine a while back and it was in perfect condition.
My theory is that the longer AG has an item for sale, the more likely it is to be botched. So if I like something, I usually get it ASAP.

I bought my dress for Claire (Marie Grace) as I wanted somehting historical for her, but I didn't like any of the stuff in her collection. It looks so nice on her, my personal shopper wanted one for her own doll! My suggestion is, pick it out in person, as I had no problems with wrinkles or dents, and my hat flew from New York back to England!

I bought this dress for my Kirsten to help fill out her meager dress collection. It's a little fancy for working on the farm, but in my head its something Mama gave her to wear to a special occasion in town. Maybe a church picnic, or her birthday. My hat came without any dents, and the dress needs a little ironing, but otherwise it's beautiful.

A friend has this and I think it is very pretty and lovely shade of purple. It looks wonderful on Addy as well as other dark haired dolls. The hat is so cute and ties cunningly under the doll's chin.
