I give this an A and recommend it for any outdoorsy, horse-loving AG girl. The outfit is 4 pieces, the blue top with the horse print on it, the faux-suede vest, the long corduroy skirt, and the boots. The little rope belt that ties on it is attached. The boots are made from the same material as the boots from Nicki's meet outfit, just not quite the same color. I was quite disappointed in them. However, I like the fact that every piece in this outfit can be worn with other things to create different looks. The book? I flipped through it, it's a little story about a 10 year old girl named Kyra who raises and rides horses. I wasn't that impressed with it. *mod edit to remove dead image link*

I come bearing lots of pictures of this outfit. But first, a few notes about the pieces:
The top is cute. I like the slight flare at the cuffs of the sleeve and the color is really lovely. The horse and cowboy picture, which I'm wild about, is a little smaller and less intrusive than I thought it would be, so I'm pleased with that. It's sort of a subtle shiny blue color.
The skirt is also very nice. The corded belt is cute, although it looks like it could be damaged with some imagination or a mischievous cat. I like the corduroy purple material and the little blue flower on it. The cut is a little different from how it appeared at first glance to me on the website- it's fairly straight down before the flares.
The vest is really lightweight suede or something and is lined with a light satiny fabric on the inside. It's not a stiff leather vest like Josefina's so it falls rather than holding its shape. The quality doesn't seem super high to me, but I'll see how it holds up over time.
The boots...yuck. They're a yucky material that doesn't look good and doesn't feel good. It's not very solid so it seems to pucker in a bit when you put them on. I've seen much nicer boots from AG.
The shirt and skirt get an A+ from me, while the vest gets a B and the boots get a C- for icky quality. I think the shirt and skirt would probably be well worth their portions of the cost, the vest mostly, but the boots, no.

Because I'm easily amused, it kinda matches Mia's undies.
Detailing on the skirt and boots
For some reason this outfit seems to have more tags plastered all over it than usual. Or they're more obvious.
The lining of the vest.
The puckering on the boots I mentioned.

Here is the outfit pictured with the sandals from the Hippie Costume. I purchased this outfit, along with the hat, when they were on sale and with a $10 off code. I really enjoy it. I have put it on Kit, Mia, and Josefina and they have all looked good in it. I have also put the boots on all of the dolls with several different outfits including sundresses and Mia's denim skirt. I like the boots! The hat has yet to come out of the box. *mod edit to remove dead image link*

This was an outfit my daughter really wanted for her dolls when she was 10. It's well-made, fits well, and has lots of mix-and-match potential because of the separate pieces. Granted, it's not something a real 10 year old would actually ride in, but it's a fun dress-up set and merits an A rating for what it is. Here's her Jess wearing it. And a clothes horse....it's one of her winning photos from the 2009 Littlest Miss Playthings Contest. More photos:

This was the first thing I ever bought at an AG store, and I have to say that I absolutely love this outfit. The mix and match ability's are endless. I have my Nicki doll wearing this, except instead of the vest, she's wearing the white jacket from the Coconut Fun outfit.
The skirt is my favorite part of the outfit. It is a nice, long skirt. Great for the dressy or casual look.
The top is also wonderful. It goes great with a lot of other pieces. I love how the sleeves flare on the ends, and when it is under the the white Coconut jacket, they look so cute.
The vest isn't actually my favorite part, but it is still very nice. The AG tag on it is a little annoying, but not overwhelming.
The boots are great. I am love how they are not the same as the boots in Nicki's meet outfit, for a little more variety.

This outfit is really cute, and it comes with a lot of stuff, IMO. The shirt is blue with a little sparkly cowboy emblem in the middle. The sleeve cuffs have ruffles, which makes the shirt cuter.
The skirt is purple and cordouroy, with blue flower embroidery and strings that tie around the doll's waist. It's a little long for my taste, but it's nice anyway!
The vest is mock-suede, and has good mix and match potential for other outfits.
And I LOVE the boots! They are adorable brown cowgirl boots. I had a hard time getting them on my PM Rorie's feet, but they go on the Mattel dolls just fine. Overall the outfit is great quality and very nice looking. Rating: A

A really great quality outfit.
There is exceptional mix-n-match potential and the colors are pretty good. The style of the pieces aren't perfect, as the shirt goes over the top of the skirt and can look bunched with the belt tied underneath. The boots are to die for, however! They are great quality and very sturdy. The sole is plastic but seems as though it will hold up to hours of child play. The vest is a nice faux suede and being a tan can match well with other neutral colors.
