This outfit comes with a blazer, a pair of pants, a beret, and a pair of brown clogs. The pants are olive green with flared legs and a little flower detail on the right leg. They have belt loops and two little tabs that you could plausibly hang something from. Inky is actually quite skinny, but as you can see, the pants are the slightest bit small in the waist. This will vary from doll to doll and from pants to pants. Personally, I feel like the jacket is a bit small. The ends of the sleeves just come to the wrists- I feel like the jacket would look better with the seam, rather than the end of the ruffle, at the wristline. It's also quite short and looks rather silly without a shirt. The shoes are sweet little clogs. I didn't have much trouble standing Inky on them, but that may vary as soles differ. They are dark brown with a similar flower detail to the one on the pants. The interior parts of the shoes are white- finally, AG is realizing that stains on dolls aren't becoming. The beret also has a little flower detail. It's cute and is larger than Ivy's beret, so it's easier to put on. I ultimately decided that the outfit would look better with a shirt- so here's Inky with a plain white shirt beneath the blazer. An improvement, yes? Grade: B

Photographer Outfit for Dolls + Book Item# G0002 When it’s time to get creative, she can dress her doll in this outfit:
A corduroy jacket with a button front and ruffled cuffs Wide-leg pants with embroidered details A wool beret with an embroidered flower in front Clog-style shoes to match The Petty Cash book, filled with tips for making and selling crafts $30 I think one of the sings that you are too much into dolls is when you see a new outfit and say, "Hey, that outfit would be perfect for _____!" The pants are made of thick, smooth light jean-type fabric. Speaking of jean-type, they are almost the exactly same cut of the Sparky Tunic and Jeans pants. The flower detail is really embroidered. It is cute but a little too matchy with the shoes for my taste. The pants are little too tight on my skinny 2005 JLY #23 and the fly is slightly too tight for her. I did not take a picture because I'm not that wierd...yet. The jacket is made out of corduroy, a nice, not to thick version. For those who have ever made anything out of corduroy will be please to know that it is cut in the same direction, giving it the desired smooth surface. An added bonus. it buttons with a real button. The upturn collar annoys me mostly because upturn collars generally bother me. I like the detailed cut, but it is a little too fitted for an tween in my opinion. I like the bottom ruffle for added elegance. Dear American Girl: Stop putting your name on everything darn thing! As most will point out. This outfit does not come with a shirt. A bummer for $30. You can really notice the lack of shirt in the jacket because of the gap under the button. Luckily for my doll, she has a white undershirt. I like the shoes! They are made out of something of rubber and some kind of stiff fabric. And yes, they are the same as the clogs in the Sparkly Tunic and Jeans outfit. Can we see a pattern? The heal has a elastic brown satinish strap to keep the doll's foot in the shoe. It does it job well. The hat is made out of thick felt. It is pretty big for a hat and not only it fit over the doll's head well but stays one pretty good. Like the pants and clogs, it has a flower detail. All three are a little too matchy but are a nice thought. I took this outfit to an American Girl camp and the girls(7-12) really dug the outfit. They liked the color theme, the shoes and even the hat. They even liked Maggie's glasses but that comes with my Maggie, not the outfit. However, even they were quick to point out the lack of a shirt, which shows that although American Girl does know their audience , they lack the insight to throw in even a plain shirt. The price is a little steep, but it does come with a jacket, hat, shoes and pants, although the jacket and pants could use slightly more fabric. I do think that if you are considering the outfit you should know what you are getting yourself into. However, once you do buy the outfit you will like it. B-Forgot the add the book. The book my least favorite of all the clothing books. It tells girls how to sell overpriced, cheep-looking pet stuff to people who like overpriced, cheep-looking pet stuff. The economist in me is curious on how the book factors profit with just cost of materials. I was not the greatest in economy but I know enough to give this book a D. *Mod edit to remove dead image links

I bought this outfit for Dawn, my #27: First of all, I REALLY wish this outfit came with a camisole or something, because it just looks skanky without an undershirt. Jacket: I don't know if this is common, but the right hand sleeve is very tight and extremely hard to get on around Dawn's wrist. The left sleeve was just fine. The sleeves also seem a little short. to me, this blazer is a very good example of AG cutting as much fabric as possible from everything in order to save on costs, and I hate it. The button is not super easy to button, and I'm afraid it may fall off, especially if I put it on a PM doll. Pants: I LOVE the pants, except they are a little tight in the waist. I don't dare try them on a PM doll, since, as you can sort of see, they pull even on Dawn, and she's the skinniest and newest doll I have (from 2009). I love how the pants are really long, though, and the color is nice. I kind of wish the flowers weren't there so they would be a better mix and match piece. Shoes: Very cute and sturdy! They stay on well and are easy to take on and off. I like the shoes a lot. Beret: I don't know why it's such a horrible clashy color for the red jacket, but the style is cute, even though the beret is difficult to get on (much like Molly's meet beret and Mia's 2-in-1 hockey outfit hat). As you can see, I had a bit of trouble getting the hat to look good. Overall: C+. Love the pants and shoes, overall cute, but definitely could stand to be improved (and cut bigger for god's sakes!!) and add a camisole. Currently, Margie is wearing this outfit with a white t-shirt underneath and it looks much better (I'll try and post a picture sometime soon).

Just want to add another photo. The only thing I don't like about this outfit is that it doesn't come with a cami or shirt. Grade B

I have to agree with the other posters...the pants closure is very tight and it needs something underneath the jacket. I give this a B b/c of these two problems

It looks like others got a jacket with wider cuffs on the sleeves than I got. I very nearly couldn't wiggle the cuffs over my doll's hand on the right side. However, the slacks fit OK and I like them and the shoes. I think the sleeveless shirt that comes with the Flower Power jeans set will work well under this jacket and the little flower at its neckline will coordinate well with the design on the slacks and clogs. But I'm very tempted to send the jacket back and see if I can get one with a wider sleeve.

I got mine on sale from cyber monday for $15... At least for that price, it's definitely worth it. The pieces will be great for mix and match, and they all look real and well designed. The jacket, especially, seems like something girls would really wear. It is annoying that it didn't come with a shirt underneath, but for the sale price, I'm not gonna gripe about it. If I paid full price, then maybe it would seem like more of a problem.
The hat is a nice material, and big enough to go on easily and stay on. My doll is a bit floppy but she still managed to stand in the shoes, which have straps that hold them onto their feet.
I love all the textures in the outfit-- courderoy, wool, embroidery, the heavy-but-soft pants, the rubbery, nubbly shoe soles, and the velvety band that holds them on. I like the colors all together, personally, though someone was complaining about it.
The pants are a little bit tight, but not enough to be a problem. I think it's because they used some pretty ferocious elastic in the back, that doesn't want to stay stretched out. Besides the waist, I like the pants a lot. They seem like they'll be useful. They were tighter on one doll that tried them than the other, so I guess it also depends on your doll, as well as the elastic.
Hate the book it comes with, though. I'm getting rid of it, no need to have it taking up space. It's titled "petty cash." Something AG might say...
overall, nothing extraordinary given what I expect from AG, but no real problems, either. Since I paid $15 I'm not bothered about the lack of shirt but had I paid full price it would be a problem for me. grade: somewhere between A and B- depending on how much you pay/how it fits your doll.

I love this outfit. I bought it for full price back in spring of this year for my niece and have since bought several sets on sale for the doll sets I've donated and for my own dolls. I ordered the girl's jacket for myself as well when it was on sale on CyberMonday and is a favorite part of my own everyday wardrobe.
The color of the jacket looks wonderful with jeans, gray leggings and many of the AG Place souvenir items in that berry red. It is particularly cute with the berry/pink striped knit accessories and with the white eyelet sundress. The biggest problem with the jacket is that it is very tightly cut and short waisted, but that is also what makes it look as cute and fitted as it does. I leave it open for the dolls as well as for myself when a shirt is worn under it. I looks really sharp buttoned with no shirt but with a light scarf in the right colors. I give the jacket an A. The same with the pants and the shoes. The beret is also very nice, but I don't like it with the outfit.
As a complete outfit at full price, I have to give it a B for most people looking at it, because of the tight fit, lack of shirt or even a scarf, and because I don't think the beret goes well with the outfit. At the $15 price tag, it is a really good deal , in my opinion. One of AG's best for this year. I really like the outfit despite its faults, and it truly rates as one of my favorites for the dolls. It also looks a lot like what the young girls are all wearing around here with their jeans, leggings, boots. The color is a personal favorite. I wish I could get that exact shade for myself in other clothing items.

This has to be one of my favorite outfits AG has made. Well, the blazer has to be my favorite piece AG has made. I received this outfit for Christmas, and I was very pleased, especially after I removed the embroidery from the pants. On to the review... The blazer: Like other members, I agree that this set needed to come with a shirt, especially when you consider that rather steep price ($28) for a set like this. My dolls will not be wearing this without a tank. I high recommend using the white lace tank from the 2007 Sweetheart Skirt Set with the blazer. It looks fantastic. Unlike other members, I don't think the blazer is too tight. It's form-fitting, which I don't mind, but I have no troubles buttoning it. It is a nice red color, which looks great on most dolls. Grade: AThe béret: a bright purple béret with a pink flower embroidered on it. Cute and good for mix and match if you're a hat person, but it just looks awful with this set. Grade: AThe clogs: cute brown clogs with pink flower embroidery. Sturdy and good for mix and match. Grade: AThe pants: the most awful part of the outfit. They fit nice, but the embroidery is just tacky, plus it inhibits mix and match potential. There is nothing wrong with a nice, plain pair of pants. Fortunately, I removed the embroidery, but the places where the flowers were look worn. It would have been easier to just make them plain. Grade: COverall grade: A-Since the pants are now sans embroidery, here are some photos of the blazer paired with other things:

I need to be better about taking photos. But here's one from when An Lei happened to be wearing it when I was taking comparison shots of her and Kanani. *mod edit to remove dead image link* It's a good outfit if you want something with pants (and different-looking pants!) and minimal pink. Also, the shoes are cute as heck. Yeah, it needs a cami, or a shirt of some kind, but you probably already have SOMETHING that will go under it...right?

I own it and love it, though my dolls rarely wear it as an ensemble. It's excellent as mix-and-match pieces.
Branwen checked it out recently with the dress part of Rebecca's school outfit (though we did decide she'd like the outfit better with some cute black flats instead of the uber-punk boots),
And Lucy Dare likes to wear the trousers and shoes with Kit's school blouse.

I just purchased this outfit as part of my free shipping order. I was hoping maybe that would get it off of the Last Chance list once and for all. ETA: I got it in the mail! I agree with everyone that it definitely needs an undershirt. I am completely in love with the pants! They are the best part of the whole outfit. Here it is modeled by Claire. *Mod edit to remove dead image link*

It's really a cute outfit! It would be great for mix & match also. Here it is paired up with the cream colored turtleneck from the Sightseeing outfit.

I made it a sort of 1970's look by adding lace ruffles at the cuffs and a lace jabeaux to make a collar for the white tshirt from Ready for Fun. The slacks are very tight on just about all my recent dolls who aren't totally anorexic but I do love the slacks and clogs. It's kind of tight on Sara (my Saila), too.

I bought it during the cyber monday sales last year too. I don't think I've ever used all the pieces together. The blazer looks cute with Emily's headband. I have the pants paired with the pink top from the 2008 School Days Outfit right now, but I haven't taken a picture.

Awkward Hat Photo, but Dawn loves this outfit. Unfortunately, I bought it for her when I got her... which is about a week after it was released. I'm probably the only person in the world who paid full price for it, and I wish I'd known it would be on clearance for forever. *facepalm* The pants and shoes get used all the freaking time in our household. Here it is on Margie, from a couple of years ago. I have gotten better at putting the hat on since then, don't worry... I tend to use the AG Fashion Show tshirt as an undershirt.

I couldn't manage to get this outfit to fit on any of my AG dolls, but I still liked it and didn't want to send it back. Happily it is very nice for Karito Kids.

I ditched the blazer and hat immediately, but I like the pants and clogs. I like the brown color of the clogs and the little embroidered details.
