I am not sure if this is somewhere else or not. You can choose from two styles of t-shirt, long-sleeved or short-, and then out of three colors, periwinkle, pink and white. Out of a dozen or so designs, you can choose one that they then iron on the t-shirt. At $10 ($11.03 including tax in Chicago) it's debatable if it is worth it. The t-shirt is too loose (it can also fit Bitty Baby) but it is fun to customize and doesn't look that bad on the doll.

The bigger stores now sell "make-your-own" dolly T-shirts. You can choose from pink, blue or white t-shirts with long or short sleeves. Then you can choose from dozens of graphics to iron-on the front. There are photos of some of the graphics in Lisabell's Chicago trip report HERE. Here is Sonali wearing an adorable Coconut and Licorice print from the Chicago store: Sonali in her new Best Friends t-shirt

For reference, here are the graphics that are available as of the date of this post: Here is the one my daughter picked: The purple background does not come through on the screenprint; only the graphic is printed onto the shirt. I agree with snowybaby that the cost makes the worth debatable because the shirts are rather thin, but it's all relative. It was fun to have it done. If your doll's personality gibes with these graphics (with their admittedly circumscribed interests), a shirt makes a nice souvenir. We definitely preferred the long-sleeved versions to the short-sleeved. Grade B+ for long-sleeved shirts.

I love these shirts. I have six--3 long sleeves, 3 short sleeves. I find that they are great for the layered look. I particularly love the white long sleeve under a short sleeve shirt, mostly because that is how I wear my t-shirts in the winter!

I love that these shirts can be changed for a doll's personality. I have two, one short sleeved and one long sleeved both in periwinkle, one with design #12 and one with design #26.

Josefina wearing the "berry sweeeet" shirt. I think their designs are all very nice, but wish they'd nix the text, which seem to make the images much less versatile. The t-shirt does seem slightly thin, as Josefina's body color seems to peek through a bit. It was a lot of fun to do, though, and I felt like I got something a little more "special" than just the exclusives.

I was asked to share some of my pictures of the "kids" design your own tee shirts: In addition to the designs shown here, the NY Store has an Innerstar U design. I don't have a camera right now, so I can not show a picture but I will describe the design. It is virtually identical to the innerstar U logo shown on the sweatshirt but larger. Pink with green U outlined in blue and white with a pink star outlined in white. Innerstar U is printed underneath in blue. I have two of the tees. One is long sleeve white with the InnerstarU design (for cooler weather) and one short sleeve white with the InnerstarU design for warmer weather.

The Denver store has the same design choices as the current ones in Chicago. I found the tees to be well made. Thin, but not flimsy. They even have a little tag that says "American Girl" on the side. I do wish there was more picture choices and ones without words. But it was fun to pick and watch the store employee put the design on the tee.

We bought three of these t-shirts at the DC store. They were cute and worth the $10 when you consider the experience of picking it out and watching them iron on the decal to the shirt. My DD picked the "Beach Girl" one in pink, short-sleeved and it turned out to be perfect for Kanani. I picked out the "Stand Tall" one in white, short-sleeved and the "Be Yourself" butterfly one in pink, short sleeved. Both are perfect for Lanie. You have to buy the t-shirt first and then bring the tag with your receipt back to the t-shirt station for them to make the shirt. I could see where this could be a problem if there's a long wait (to choose the t-shirt, pay for the t-shirt, and then return to iron on the decal to the shirt). The store wasn't too crowded though so this was do-able for us and added to the whole store experience.
