The book was eliminated and the charm was added in 9/2010.
This outfit arrived today. I wasn't sure what I was going to think of it, so I decided to look at it in person and decide if I wanted to keep it or not. Well, I'm keeping it... it looks adorable on my #25, Phoebe. The sparkly dress looks even more shimmery and the skirt looks fuller in person and the little white shoes are just adorable. I don't care for the gloves much but that's a minor point. Overall, I give it an A-, I think maybe it could have come with a necklace or hairpiece to accessorize it more.

Full disclosure: For some reason, my brain translates the "Dancing Star" in the outfit's name as "Dancing Queen." <cue ABBA music>
When I saw this in the catalog, I though it looked like a disco ball. Not my cup of tea, but just the thing my 6 year old daughter loves. Indeed, this moved to the top of her list and she purchased it just before Thanksgiving.
It is sparkly, but it doesn't look quite as disco ballish in person. Just really shiny. The gloves are nice as far as those go. The shoes are actually one of my favorite pair because E can put them on with ease and they stay on. The dress is also easy for her to put on and take off and I don't worry about snagging.
It was shown in the catalog with the Fancy Ice Skates, and she received those for Christmas. Honestly, the outfit holds its own without the skates and the "fancy-ness" of the golden skate blades is lost amid all that reflected light.
I think it is a nice outfit, but I would wait for a sale or free shipping. The $30.00 price tag seems a little much without a hair goody and/or necklace.

Here are a few pictures of the Dancing Star Outfit on MyAG-4 and MyAG-36. For a slightly different look, I have paired several jackets with this dress. However, I haven’t been overly impressed with any of the combinations so far.
