My daughter was beyond thrilled to see an owl on an AG outfit, so she had to have this 'dress outfit' for her Bitty Twin girl. She has a thing for owls.
The dress is soft and the print is owlishly dear. She loves it. But I have a couple of quibbles.
The main one has to do with those legwarmers. Really, AG? Legwarmers for preschoolers? Really?? Because see, legwarmers alone on a winter outfit would not do for any preschoolers of my acquaintance. The preschoolers I've known and loved would whine something fierce about their knees being cold on a snowy day if those legwarmers were slouched down below their knees like you want us to place them. This concept doesn't work for me. My daughter likes to pull the legwarmers up over the knees and pretend they are capris. YMMV, but hey AG, next time you reuse this pattern, please to make capris?
The other thing I take issue with is the neckline of the dress. It seems unnecessarily wide and awkward. Granted, this may be more noticeable since my daughter's Bitty girl is an original short-haired version.
The hat fits our short-haired girl quite well; I don't know how it will do on the long-haired girls. The shoes are soft-soled and stretchy; they're a cut above the flimsy crib shoes that AG has been making lately. They aren't as nice as the more substantial shoes that came with the older Twin outfits.
Conceptualization and execution seem lacking in this outfit and it thus merits a B- grade from me.
