Per curtdanhauser.com: "Beginning in 2002, Pleasant Company began producing promotional items to be given free to girl attendees of special Major League Baseball games played at Chicago's Wrigley Field and New York's Yankee Stadium. These items were special American Girl doll-sized versions of Major League uniform jerseys, jackets and ball caps. Through 2006, these continued to be given away"
I purchased the 2006 version of the Yankees cap & jacket giveaway from ebay last year, and I'm happy I did so. The jacket is dark blue satiny polyester with a white quilted lining and snaps in front. There is a New York Yankees logo on the right front side and a red American Girl logo on the back. The cap feels like cotton and has the same two logos (big NYY on the front, small AG on the back). I'm not a huge baseball fan, but both pieces look authentically major league in miniature.
Both the jacket and cap fit our dolls well and look really cute. Pictures will follow.
I would definitely recommend getting this outfit if you have a Yankees fan in your house and can find it for a decent price. I give it an A.

I have this too. The jacket is so well made. The only draw back is the fact there are no pants included.
