There is a new storage solution for your dolls. It is white, with storage for 4 dolls. Maybe 5, tight fit. It is wood. It has 2 opening doors revealing room for dolls to stand up on one side and both doors offer shoe and accessory storage. Two cloth drawers pull out to offer storage of clothing. A rod fixed over the doll area to hold clothes.
It seemed very well made and quite sturdy. Oh and do notice the hefty price tag. You'd have to sell the dolls to get the thing to put them in and by then you wouldn't need it anymore! LOL!

I don't like it. For someone who collects predominately historical dolls, one of the two clothing racks is virtually useless - the bottom one doesn't have enough space to store the historical dresses - it's clearly for pants and tops. And anyway, I would much rather buy the kinds of things you'd put inside such a cabinet.

I liked this in the catalog but was really not impressed when I saw it in the store (Los Angeles). I left thinking her Dad could pretty easily conform a cabinet to do this same thing and have it be a higher quality end product.

We actually purchased this for our daughter last year. I was so tired of finding outfits all over her bedroom. It looks incredible in her room! She displays her Kailey, JLY #27, and Julie on the top on the AG white stands and keeps all of their clothing and accessories inside. It certainly does not have enough space for Multiple Historical Collections, but for a girl's bedroom it is perfect! It looks amazing with her dresser and bed... like it is part of the suite! If buying for a young girl, I highly recommend this! I am still amazed at how many things we can load into it! For collecting purposes though... go for something larger and more adaptable!

I purchased this at a garage sale and I really like it. I'm an adult and actually use it as my nightstand next to the bed. It's a good height for that. I store all of my dolls shoes and socks/tights in the two bins as well as the shoe holders on the door. I hang all of the longer dresses inside as well as all of Julie/Ivy items. Julie and Ivy did not have any other storage at my house so this works well. The other historicals share the few historical trunks I have. It seems extremely sturdy and I really love having it. However, I personally would have never had purchased it at full price but finding it locally for a discount (in almost new condition) I couldn't pass it up). Good luck making a decision. - Meg B.

Despite the high price I really like mine. It is just great for holding clothes and accessories for my modern AG dolls. Dresses and coats are hung on the top rod and pants. tops and skirts are hung on the botom rod. The two fabric covered boxes hold lots of boots,, hats and odd items. The pockets hold many pairs of shoes. My favorite storage solution is what you can put on the ribbon board. Sunglasses, ponytail holders, jewelry, scarves, etc. It looks very organized like a california closet system for AG dolls. LOL After all that there is plenty of space for a couple dolls or more stuff. The best part is that there is a nice flat space on top of the cabinet to set up a nice scene with a couple of dolls and even a table and chairs set. Close the whole thing up and it looks clean, simple and pretty. I have doll trunks but I could not be without this thing.

I haven't shopped lately for bedside tables, but I would imagine one the size of the AG storage cabinet would be in that price range. If one had white bedroom furniture, the cabinet might serve that purpose. A table lamp could be placed on top, book-ended books, or even a nice display like sailorbear has ontop of hers. If there was enough room.....and cost was not a factor, I could picture one on each side of the bed that would be a great storage space for quite a lot of AG things. When closed, everything is nice and tidy. A little expensive, but still something to consider. Maybe free shipping would make it a little bit sweeter.

I think it is very cute, but I didn't buy it after I saw it in the store because the one in the store was broken and scratched and I figured it wouldn't hold up well. I just got the impression that is was junky.

I was able to get one for my DD from a Craigslist ad. I bought it in a lot. So far I have sold most of what came with it and it only cost me $125. DD is going to get it for Christmas. The only part I found unstable was the top decorative piece. The rest of it made well and is very sturdy. It is about 3 times the size of the OG Target version. It can hold a lot items as well as two dolls. It is really big. If you are able to get one for half price, go for it. You'll love it!

I'd go for it for half price! I purchased mine for $200 which is definately not an excellent bargain but it felt doable to me at the time. Mine came from an older woman collector's estate and seemed to be in new or like new condition. If the one you have the opportunity to purchase is in good shape I think you'll enjoy having it. - Meg B.

I purchased this for my daughter when we moved. She had a wooden non AG trunk, but the place we were moved to has limited closet storage so I was looking for something that could go in her room without being distracting and remain functional. After seeing this in the store I knew this is what I wanted to get. Now I would like to preface this by saying we were replacing ALL of her bedroom furniture. She was 10 and it was time for pieces that could grow with her and to let go of the little tikes and little girly stuff. The reason I say this is because had I not been looking at endless stores of bedroom furniture I may not have considered it. I consider this to be a piece that if at some point a child decides to put their dolls into storage they can still use with plenty of practicality. It is a very solid wooden piece. The measurements are about 27 1/2" H x 25" W x 14"D. There is a higher rounded piece on the back with a star on it. This is the only piece that needs to be attached. It arrives in a large box well packed. There are two handle slots on the sides which make it easier to lift and carry when moving around. There are two doors if front with metal star handles. Two on one door and one on the other. There are no sharp edges to these they are securely in the doors and look nice. Inside there are two racks for hanging clothes on one side and two places for storage bins on the other. The rack on top has more space underneath for longer items and the rack on the bottom works great for shirts, jackets and shorter items. One door has a ribbon/cushion bulletin board for cards and stickers and the other has a shoe rack. Both of these are removable. The shoe rack hangs on a metal peg and the board has holes with slots in the back that hook into two screws or metal pegs in the middle of the door. The shoe rack has eight slots with ribbon trim. These can hold two pare of regular doll shoes or sneakers or three of thinner shoes or sandals. It is made of a thick canvas and inside the backing of the canvas seems to be a thick cardboard that folds. The ribbon board has the same canvas material over a nice cushion with soft ribbons criss crossing to hold things in place. This board is fairly thick. The two "drawers" as the AG site calls them are made of canvas and are collapsible. They have a thinner cardboard inside the canvas to make it sturdy and an insert to put on the bottom. These hold a generous amount of accessories for storage. I'm including a picture here showing everything that was inside. If you go to my slide show you can see more pictures. There is still plenty of room inside in front of the clothes racks, as the site says for two dolls or pretty much any items you need to put in. The piece sells for $325 and the shipping is more than the standard rate because of the weight and size of the box. As I stated earlier if you are looking for a piece of furniture that does not stand out as a doll item this is great. I coordinates with many different styles of bedroom furniture. If all you are looking for is doll storage and do not need or want a piece of furniture the price may be steep. I rate this piece an A+ because it suited everything I was looking for and is excellent quality when comparing to bedroom furniture we looked at. Here is a link to my slide show. It worked great for DD for years for all of her AG stuff. It is a quite nice piece of furniture as well. Much nicer than other cheap furniture you can buy at places like Target. DD is now 14 1/2 and moved bedrooms. She only kept to AG's in her room to display. The cabinet is now a nightstand and she keeps all of her nail polishes, hair things and various other odds and ends in there. It honestly is one of the post practical AG things I every purchased. I didn't look at it as an "AG" product when purchasing. I looked at it as a furniture purchase. It will either grow and go with DD1 or it will become her baby sisters. DD's current dresser is only a few months old, cost half the price and is already having major issues. This thing is almost 5 years old and as good as new. If you can get it at a great price definitely go for it.

Just wanted to add that I just got my Storage cabinet in the mail from American girl today. I love it! I was very worried about the quality from readings previous reviews on the AG website, but mine is perfect. The paint looks great. The cabinet is very study. All of the pieces were there. And it fits tons and tons of clothes! I already have mine full! Now I'm going to need another! It is much larger in person than I expected. Love it! The only complaint I have is that the bottom clothes rod is too low for anything besides shirts, jackets. So it's not that great for historical items, but I put all my historical items on the top clothes rod and my modern items on the bottom rod, so that worked out OK.
