Josefina is a very lovely doll with wonderful hair and an accurate skintone. But her hair is rather on the thin side. When I put it in pigtails you can see her wig cap a lot! Her meet outfit was okay but nothing really special.Overall grade B+.

I find Josefina to absolutely stunning. I reccomend her highly. Her hair is a tad unmanagable for me , but I'm working on it. Her earrings are off sometimes but can easily be fixed. In general, A+.

Here's an early Josefina I just received in a lot - she's fully PM, soft lashes, fat body, lack of body tag, the whole thing! She must be from between 97 and 99. She shares the exact same face mold as my 2004 version - they have the same tiny-lettered PC neckmold. Apart from the usual PC/Mattel differences, though, I also noticed that PM Josefina has a slightly yellowish/olive skintone in comparison to Mattel but a pinker body fabric, that her eyebrows are angled differently and are actually thicker, and that her wig is different. My Mattel girl has a defective wig anyway that snags like mad, but PM Josefina has fewer strands of coarser hair, which doesn't tangle at ALL and which makes for a nicer braid. The part is also slightly different.

Josefina is the prettiest doll I have. In fact, I have two of them because I love her so much My original Josefina is Mattel, 2004 to be exact. Her hair has not stood up to much loving from being 8 years old, so her grade would be a B+. Now my PM Josefina, who I've called Ava, is a different story. Her hair has stayed in near-pristine condition after 13 years of play. So, she's a definite A+. Here's Ava. That brings the Josefina doll in general to an A. She really is a wonderful doll, but maybe not for an 8-year-old.

I have a PM Josefina. She was my thrid doll I got her when I was 11 or so. I am now 23. She still looks brand new. I have only taken her hair out a few times to rebraid her hair when it would get stuck in the velcrow. I down loaded the pattens for Josefina. I hope to make her nightgown. My mom is going to teach me how to use her sewing machine. Maybe if I get good at making doll clothes I will buy my own.

I have owned six Josefina dolls in my 18 years of life...not because I collect them but because they have never lasted, granted some of the time I was at fault. The first Josefina I bought took a dip in the pool and the heavy chlorine caused her leg to snap off, my second had powder put in her hair, her nails painted and tattoos courtesy of my sharpie collection. The third I lost while whale watching, the fourth had her hair chopped off and the fifth I sold three weeks ago to purchase one NIB. Needless to say I have owned my fair share of this doll. I have always loved Josefina however her hair bothers me a lot. It is impossible to re-braid or style because it becomes so dry and frizzy. And I distinctly remembering struggling to get her shoes on and off. Regardless she is a beautiful doll who represents a significant staple in my collection. Grade: A- (her hair really bothers me)

Let me first say, WOW, you all have such beautiful photos of your Josefina's! Josefina was my second doll. I purchased her for Christmas in 2003 and she has been stunning me with her beauty ever since! I give her an A for the doll, A for the outfit, and A for her book, "Meet Josefina." The meet outfit is GREAT, mostly due to the fact you can mix and match the pieces with many of her other outfits. The white camisa is nice, and the red skirt is very cute. The belt is great because you can tie it in a variety of ways to change things up. The primroses are ALWAYS in my Josie's hair. She just loves them! Until she gets a best friend from AG, her and Claire (#9) are BFFs. I love putting her in modern clothing. She LOVES Addy's dress! She is a stand out kind of a girl.

Josefina is just beautiful! She is one of my very favorite dolls, so much so that I have three Josefinas. All three of my Josefina dolls look slightly different from each other, and have different skin tone. Here is my Josefina, sent to me years ago by a dear online friend because I didn't have an AG. She was my only big AG until I won Kirsten this year from the Doll Wardrobe blog. Here she is in an old photo of the first AG swap I made. It was for a Kit doll. Sewing with Mini Josefina and Sara. Playing in the shade of the tomatoes with friends. Modeling matching skirts made for my granddaughter and her little friends. Showing Kirsten around the farm. As you can see, my Josefina is a very sociable sort and rarely has her photo taken alone.

Josefina was the second AG I bought, an ebay 'fixer upper' doll (I hadn't planned on getting Josefina at all but something compelled me to buy this one when I saw her photo on ebay. I think she might be the most beautiful of all my AGs: something in her face suggests such gentleness and kindness.

The lovely Josefina; she looks wonderful in any color, and her hair is a lot of fun to style:

May I present the three Josefinas? All are Pleasant Company, none have body tags. All were bought from eBay.
The one on the right has firmer vinyl and longer stiffer black eyelashes. She came in a white striped box labled "JD Made in China, Germany, USA.
The middle one has more matte vinyl, bigger eyebrows, short straight super soft brown eyelashes and darker face coloring. She came in a white striped box labled "JDP" with a hangtag that said "Dolls made in USA"
The left one is most like the middle only has seen some love. Her face coloring is more faded, and had soft brown eyelashes with a slight curl.
Anyone have any guesses to which were earlier or later Josefina?

Today I received my Josefina but she is to be stored until Mother's day... I decided to go ahead and open her and make sure she was ok and ended up doing a lot more than that!!! I could not resist! I undid her braid and then made a looser braid so her hair could frame her face a little better. She is absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing about her. Her hair is silky and her skin tone is rich. I was a little afraid of getting a doll with high eyebrow placement but mine arrived with the most perfect eyebrows I could have ever hoped! Her meet outfit is very well made and looks very authentic. The fabric of the skirt is beautiful and quite thick. I always wanted to own the Harvest Outfit but was not going to pay ebay prices for it so I decided to make my own and I am very satisfied with how it turned out. I dressed Josefina in it and put her back in the box as she waits for her debut on Mother's day. In summary, I give Josefina and her outfit an A+. I was lucky to receive a doll that had all the characteristics I was looking for and that looks absolutely perfect to me. Her limbs are just tight enough, her eyes are even, her wig is beautiful... I am beyond thrilled. I would highly recommend Josefina.

My daughter's first edition Josefina came in the mail today (an end of the school year gift with the help of our friend Memory!), and she is stunning! I have never liked the Josefina face mold (it is dd's favorite) on any of dd's other dolls. But wow, it is gorgeous on Josefina! She has such a cuddly body, soft squishy limbs, silky gorgeous hair, and lovely coloring. If dd ever gets tired of her, I'm stealing her for my collection ;D!

No contest, Josefina is absolutely my most beautiful doll. She also has such a sweet personality and beautiful collection. Plus, her hair is really fun to play with. It's so easy to do all kinds of braids and buns with it because of it's length, and as long as it's up and brushed every so often, it's really easy to manage.

Josefina is the first AG that I paid full price (+ shipping!) for. Shocking since I am very frugal, but she is worth every penny

I found a lovely near-mint Josefina at a yard sale today for $25. Her hair is a mess and her limbs are a little loose, but otherwise, she seems to be fine. What a beauty she is! She's my first doll with the Josefina mold and my first doll with earrings. AG's description of her is on the nose - those brown eyes really do glimmer! Her face is just so sweet. If you're on the fence about her, she's recommended - especially if you like to play with hair, as she has plenty to play with.

Josefina was my second doll, i got her in december at AGPNY and i highly reccomend her. She is a beautiful doll with such a sweet, shy face. Her hair is an issue though, it tangles very easily and you MUST keep it in braids so it doesn't get ruined. Fina looks amazing in pastels and bright reds and oranges

Josefina is a lovely doll. Her hair is good for play and she's very pretty. I'm glad to have her in my collection.
