Released in 2006 for $24, retired in 2007.
Josefina’s aunt, Tía Magdalena, teaches her to use herbs for healing. When it’s time for Josefina to explore the hills near her home, wrap her rebozo, or shawl, around her head to protect her from the wind and sun. Place an herb bunch into her gathering basket, and pretend to grind the aster with the metal mortar and pestle to make medicine. Includes a bird flute necklace.
I just recieved this as an exchange and am not disappointed. I love everything about it! The colors of the rebezo are so much brighter than her meet one and it's a thicker fabric and seems larger all around. The mortar and pestle are quite heavy and I'm happy to report are made of real metal. The faux flowers are darling and are tied with a coordinating ribbon. Lastly the basket is just the right size for carrying the flowers and looks so cute in Josefina's arms. I give this one an A, I'm very happy with it!

Rebozo: at least three times thicker than her "meet" rebozo. The colors are warm and bright.
Mortar and Pestle: definitely of metal, very well made and incredibly sturdy. You could likely use them in real life!
Faux flowers: cute as faux flowers can be, which is not very, but oh well.
Basket: flimsy, but still looks nice. It could have done with a heavier weighted/stronger reed.
Whistle: adorable! Sadly it does not work.

The whistle doesn't even have a hole to blow through. I have to admit, although I like this rebozo a lot more than the skinny mini that comes with her meet accessories, my fantasy of it was crushed in real life. Somehow I thought it would be cuddly and warm and very thick. It's pretty and it will be fine to cut the drafts from air conditioning in the summer, but it won't do much for Clara in New England winters.
I agree that the mortar and pestle are very heavy and sturdy. I like the basket. The flowers were already shedding into the box when I opened it and they don't represent exactly a BOUNTIFUL harvest.
So overall I would rate this a B+ and I'm glad I got it on sale, not for full price.

I got my set today (purchased on eBay) - I'm very happy with it for the price I paid ($20 US including shipping) but definitely don't think it should have been called an "outfit" when it's really just accessories, and therefore was overpriced by AG. But I love it - especially the mortar and pestle!

My daughter got this as an exchange for a duplicate birthday present. The price was right, now that it is on sale for $18. Because for an accessory set, I think $18 is far more reasonable than the $24 it originally retailed for. And this is definitely an accessory set, despite its labeling as an outfit. As an "outfit" I'd give it a C grade because, well, it wouldn't cover much doll skin. But as an "accessory set" it gets an A grade from me. The rebozo is great, with lovely colors. The basket and flower bouquet are a little on the cheap side, but still pretty (there are some dried flowers of our own in the basket as well). I just purchased this and I really like it. Glad to pay the sale price. The colors in the rebozo are vivid and a joy to look at. The mortar and pestel are really high quality. My basket was warped in the middle. It is also very shallow, which I actually like. The flowers were very attractive! Unlike the other reviews, I really like the flowers. Bird necklace is adorable and there is no whistle hole in this one. I think you have to get the Santa Fe Fun set to get the whistle version. I am very happy with this set. A

Josefina’s Herb-Gathering Outfit JASO $24 "Josefina’s aunt, Tía Magdalena, teaches her to use herbs for healing. Place an herb bunch into her gathering basket, and pretend to grind the aster with the metal mortar and pestle to make medicine. Includes a bird flute necklace." Yes, definitely an accessory set and not an outfit! But lovely and the rebozo is so much nicer than her other ones. It measures 38" long! It's my favorite! Grade A for the set. (see review above) This set could have been improved with a better basket. Pueblo people are renowned for their basketry- would it have been that difficult to use a basket with traditional motifs? Another comparison pic of the two whistles. It's just sad that they couldn't have continued production of the functional real clay whistles.

My Josefina wears her rebozo from the Herb Gathering set very frequently with lots of her outfits. I like it better then her Meet one. Josefina is ways from home visiting as part of a display at work right now, so unfortunately I can't take a pic for you. I think the colours would be lovely together. Here it is with her Feast Day Finery: And here a bunch of stuff from various outfits: Josefina's collection is the most cohesive I think. There are endless combinations of her collection that can be worn together.

I finally tracked this down a week or so ago and it arrived today. I LOVE it. The Rebonzo is a beautiful mix of Orange, red, and yellow with a little blue thrown in, like a setting sun, and it goes with a custom orange skirt I have on Josefina. I think it will look pretty with her riding dress, meet skirt, and dress and vest as well. The fake flowers are pretty but the red ribbon tied around them really makes them pop. The basket is nothing special, but it's works well, the clay flute is adorable. The big surprise was how heavy the mortor and pestle is. I was expecting plastic, not actual metal!

A friend has this and I think it's a half hit and half miss. The rebozo is lovely and thick and nice. The mortar and pestle are metal and well made. The rest is just okay.
