Released in 1997 for $20, combined with sleigh bed in 2010.Sheepskin & Blanket JDAQ $22
On the rancho, Josefina’s bed was a stack of cozy sheepskins! Roll-up the make-believe sheepskin with its leather cord when she gets up, or simply drape it over the sleigh bed. Once she’s snuggled in, cover her with a hand-loomed Rio Grande blanket. Josefina’s sisters might have “danced on the treadles” of the loom to weave it for her!The blanket is a wonderful, tightly woven, colorful blanket that measures approximately 20"x14". It's hand wash only, and a very scratchy material, so might be real wool or a very good representation. The sheepskin is not real sheep-skin, but a 'fake fur' type of material that really picks up the lint and cat hair in my house! It has that 'real sheepskin' shape which makes it fun to play with and pretty authentic looking. Also a small piece of leather strap comes with this set so Josefina can roll up her bed in the morning and put it away until the next evening. Lots of play value and Josefina loves it. Here she is preparing to tie it up and begin her day: Josefina's Sheepskin and Blanket Great quality. Great price. Great value. Grade A

I give this set a B+. I like the look of the blanket but it is very hard, coarse, and scratchy. It actually pricks my fingers when I handle it, thus it just sits on Josefina's bed. I was wondering how people actually tolerated using these blankets if they were like this, pretty as it is, it is not comfortable at all.
The sheepskin seems to shed a lot which I do not appreciate, I took the dustbuster to it and it seems to be better after that but still sheds occasionally when played with. The sheepskin is very soft however, and I like how they give you the little rope to tie it up with.

The blanket - The concept for the blanket is good, but it is so scratchy! It feels more like a rug. I can't imagine actually sleeping under one of these things, but I'm not sure it's actually wool or if the wool is just woven so tightly. And yes, it is really woven - mine came from 2004. The pattern is very nice - stripes of bright red, blue, black, and natural fibers. The fringe is the same natural color as that in the blanket. For looks A+, for Josefina's comfort, probably nil. The sheepskin - The sheepskin's kind of fun. It's soft and fluffy, much lighter than fake fur. It feels like real wool stuffing I have, but I kind of doubt it actually is. It's cut in the pattern like a real sheep's skin might look. Underneath, it is mesh. One weird thing is that there were several little black hairs stuck in the fur when I first got it. It may just be natural but it was kind of creepy, so I just picked them out. Now it's fine. A+The cord - just a cord. But it's really leather! From what I can tell, though, the set does not come with this piece anymore.

Blah, I didn't like this set. The blanket, as others have said, was way too scratchy and the fake fur felt weird to me... it felt synthetic. It didn't seem like Josefina would be comfortable on either, so I returned it. I give the whole set a D.

Grade: B+ I received this set for Christmas, after postponing getting it for a long, long time. My first reaction was that the blanket is disturbingly scratchy. I don't know why they chose to use such coarse material; it's almost like they used raw hemp to make it. I'm from the Southwest, and as such, have tons of traditional blankets, but I've never encountered one so scratchy. Luckily, this one has beautiful bright coloring, which almost makes up for the heinous texture. Make sure Josefina's wearing her nightie when she goes to sleep or she'll get all chafed. The blanket is also really long. If you lay it on Josefina's bed, it is actually longer than the mattress; you need to fold it over for it to fit. I love the sheepskin. As AGR showed, Josefina wouldn't have had a bed, but would have rather slept directly on a pile of sheepskins. I haven't had any problems with shedding on my sheepskin, but I imagine I will soon enough. The leather thong is nice. I love that they took the time to include it, so Josefina can roll up her bed every morning.

The blanket is super thick and scratchy! I think it is going to be a rug in the living room. Then, I will use the sheepskin as a cozy rug in Austin's room. Very well made, and very authentic. NOT very cozy!

While the set is pretty to look at, I was disappointed for the same reasons others have mentioned... the blanket feels HORRIBLE. I don't even like to pick it up! It's also kind of a bummer that the "sheepskin" is fake. I know it would probably have been too expensive to use real wool, but I love it when AG has authentic items (like Sam's mohair bear). I give this set a C, and that's only because I like the size and appearance of the items.
