This set is worn by Felicity in the book Felicity Saves the Day. It was released in 1992, and in 2005 it was combined with Felicity's Summer Gown & Lace Cap to make her Summer Outfit (which was sold until 2009).PC description: Felicity wore a wide-brimmed, rose-trimmed straw hat to shade her face from the sun. Her brocade slippers were lighter for summer than her heavy leather shoes. I LOVE the straw hat! It's so delicate and feminine and historically accurate. It does not sit on Felicity's head the way Kirsten's straw hat does. It is trimmed in sky blue ribbon and two perfect little bunches of flowers. The slippers are really nice too but stiff and feel a bit delicate. They are starting to split down the back seam from wear. The ones I have are a lighter color than the ones I saw at AGP last year. Mine look more authentic, I think. They are a lovely addition to her summer outfit or birthday outfit. Grade: A

These are gorgeous. I love the slippers in particular. The hat is so feminine with it's very small... top part. It looks beautiful with the lace cap beneath.

I think because that was the style. I couldn't get it to stay tied behind her head. If you pull her hair back in a pony, and then tie the hat ribbons first around the pony and then under, it works better. Takes a bit of adjusting to make it look right. I do love this hat. Granted, it does not stay on solidly through much play, but for display purposes it is fine. The brocade slippers are very well made and never slip off, which is also a bonus. The entire set gets an A- from me.

I really love the hat and slippers! They're so accutate! I think in Felicity's time, they would usually tie it under their chin but I guess it can be done either way. In the books, she always tied in under her chin and sometimes let it fall down her back. AG REALLY needs to get Elizabeth some brocade slippers!!!!!! Not these STUPID, INACCUTATE SLIPPERS THAT COME WITH EVERY OUTFIT! You can't even get them on with stockings on and in colonial times, EVERY respectable family would NEVER have their daughters not wear stockings! Sorry, cooling off now...... Maybe I should consider working in AG's design department and fix all this mattel crap! Ok, I'm done.

Hat & Brocade Slippers (EAOB, Pleasant Company): I ordered this set years ago and sent it back (and got Kirsten's lunch instead). I have since gotten a new set of PM shoes. The hat looked nice enough sitting in the box, wide brimmed straw with the pretty two-tone roses and the blue ribbon. However it looked awful on the doll. The hat was not quite round, more of an oval and the crown (?) was lopsided and almost completely flat, it was basically a straw disc perched on her head. Looking at everyone's pictures (and remembering the off shape) I am sure I got a defective one, but at the time I didn't really think about it and it got sent back. The shoes (the old pair and the one I have now) were one of my most favourite things for Felicity. They are single-lasted like they are meant to be, the brocade is beautiful, they fit my Felicity doll and they go perfectly with the summer dress and look good with so many others. I have spent all the time since I returned that set wishing I hadn't even though the hat was awful.

I love the hat and slippers! The hat is made from straw, with a lovely shape, satin ties, and tiny clusters of pink flowers. I haven't had any trouble keeping it on as long as it's tied tightly! It looks both cute on her head and hanging off the back of her neck in a lazy fashion.
Her brocade shoes are a real treasure, though. They look pretty with all of her dresses except the ball gown, and the print is simply beautiful! I also think that they're easier to get on and off than her meet shoes, so I tend to keep her in these more than the others.
I don't have the best shot of the shoes, but this photo shows the hat off nicely:

So, whilst taking off Felicity's shoe this evening, the sole experienced massive glue fail and popped off. To my surprise, modern AG graphics jumped into sight:
