This outfit is worn by Addy in the short story "High Hopes for Addy." Released in 1999, retired in 2006.
Addy’s best school dress features three different fabrics that were once leftover scraps from Mrs. Ford’s dress shop: a crisp stripe, a gingham check, and a hint of dark sage green. Don’t forget to add the green hairbow!
grab this now while you still can! This is definately one of my favorite outfits of all time. The rusty orange color looks beautiful on Addy and on redheads. I adore the trim made from different fabric. It gives the dress that special touch which shows Addy's Mama saved every bit of cloth she could to make the dress. The headband is thick, ribbed ribbon and preformed in the shape of a headband and elasticized on the bottom to slip on over Addy's head. Addy is shown modeling the dress with her kite from her kite dress. She is participating in the kite flying contest in her short story High Hopes for Addy. A+

I really like this dress, though I also am not a fan of the headband. I do wish that the green on the cuffs and the checkered fabrics were swapped, I just love that green. Overall I give this an A-.

I just got the striped dress from the online sale. In pictures, it just seems a bit gaudy, but it is much better-looking in real life. I am glad I got it! I don't have an Addy as of yet, so my Molly is enjoying the dress now. Also, I was surprised to see that the dress is tagged Pleasant Company. Everything else I've ever ordered from AG this year was tagged American Girl. Grade: A, recommended

My Striped Dress is tagged Pleasant Company as well. One of those older labels. I love it! Except it's a little loose on my gorgeous Mattel Addy. =] (I love to brag about Addy) =p

This is my Addy's favorite dress, and she's usually in it for that reason. I love the color combination---and it's not pink (even though I do like pink)! The orange looks really nice trimmed in green, and the green ribbon headbead coordinates well. Grade: A+

I give this dress and A+. I bought it on ebay because I loved the picture in the Autumn Bliss skin of Addy wearing it. The main reasons I love it are because it is LONG enough and it has a great shape. Some dresses are too short - for example, Samantha's talent show dress and Christma dress, though I still enjoy both of those, they are skimpy. This orange dress is not only long enough, but it has a nice full skirt that really holds its shape nicely. It stands away from her body all on its own, without any undergarments support. The green headband is a nice touch, too. I've very glad I have this dress.

I absolutely adore this dress! The colors are so perfect for Addy. I bought this on Ebay shortly after it retired, and paid about retail for it, but now that I have seen it in person, I think I'd pay a lot more if I had to buy it again for some reason.
The headband is fine. I think it's a pretty color and goes nicely with the dress, but I am not a huge fan of headbands for dolls and would have preferred a ribbon instead.

Just got this dress today, and my Addy loves it. The autumn colors are perfect for her, and so cute. Mine doesn't have the hair ribbon/headband though.
My grade: A

This dress went on deep sale (I want to say it was at $10 for quite a while, IIRC) the year it was discontinued (2006) and languished for a while before people finally scooped them all up. It tends to appear frequently on the secondary market; it should not be considered rare even though retired, so keep that in mind when deciding how much to pay for it. It is such a great fall/school dress! I give the designer credit for putting together what superficially might seem like a lot of contrast. It works, it works well. I like to imagine Addy's mother assembling it with scraps and bits that she had left over from her job at Mrs. Ford's, creating it with love in every stitch for her darling girl. So long as Addy is modest and doesn't flounce around, she can wear her red petticoat under it with impunity. Makes it a bit of a tight fit when sharing the double desk with Harriet, though. I guess I'll be fair and give the outfit an A- since the hair band is lacking a bit in functionality and has stretched out over time. But that honestly doesn't bother me as I use it mainly for decorative purposes. The dress is a wonderful addition to Addy's wardrobe.

I purchased this dress recently on Ebay and absolutely adore it. Kit is currently wearing it and the hair bow looks wonderful in her hair. (Addy is wearing her school outfit for winter and didn't want to change right now)

I got this on ebay, and probably overpaid a little ad $20, but that's okay--it's a beautiful dress. I don't have the headband so I'm not reveiwing it.
The color is really rich and warm, and the colors go together nicely. It's nice for fall but it can be worn for other seasons, too, without a problem. In pictures I thought the green stuck out a little too much, but it's better in real life.
The skirt is full, and would be a perfect candidate for having hoopskirts worn under it.
The olny thing that bugs me is that some of the ruffles on the cuff lie forward, but that might be because of how it lay in shipping, and I still will try to press them forward a little with an iron.

Addy's Striped Dress Grade ~ A
I dressed Amelia in this lovely dark pumpkin colored dress that I bought off of ebay for $9.99 and it came with the adorable gold shoes! I think it has a Mardi Gras flair. The detail is really nice, i'm just wishing I had the headband it originally came with but overall I love the look and feel of this dress.

I have been looking for a fall dress for Kirsten. I love the trail dress but haven't found it for a descent price. I found this and was worried the colors wouldn't look good on Kirsten, but she proved me wrong. I finally got the courage to take her hair down for the ribbon. She is ready for fall. Attachments:

This is my favorite dress in Addy's collection the rusty striped fabric is so pretty and the addition of the contrasting ruffles puts it over the top for sweetness.
