Released in 1986, retired in 2008.
Pack a lunch for Kirsten in this charming oval wooden box. In Sweden, it’s called a “tine.” Kirsten’s father might have carved and decorated hers with its traditional wood-burned design. Pioneer food was simple but hearty. For lunch, give Kirsten a piece of bread, a sausage, a wedge of cheese, and a juicy wild apple. Kirsten’s make-believe food is tucked in the tine along with a woven napkin.
Review: I honestly flipped when I saw this set! The Tine is SOOO cute! The carving details are absolutely precious, it is very well made. I'm not sure if this is actual wood though... it might be plastic that was made to look like wood... none the less... it's adorable! The food set is nice and heavy... not cheaply made. The napkin is thicker material... just love it!

I love this set, too. I especially like the detail on the tine. It is really nice for display as well as play.

I know our tine is wood. I wish I could tell what type it was. But I have the mattel version just like yours Rodellee. I think it si just really well coated to protect it.

I have the newer version, and I like the way it looks better than the PM one. It seems very sturdy and the food is really cute.

I have the second PC version of this. I absolutely love it! The detail on the tine is wonderful and the food is even more realistic than I thought it'd be.

This set includes the tine, napkin (earlier sets), a sausage, wedge of cheese, chunk of bread and an apple. I got the original Pleasant Company version of this lunch with the original tine and napkin for poor lunchless Felicity. The tine is thin wood with a pretty woodburn design on it. It seems a bit fragile and is a little tricky to open, but mine is still in one piece after years of use. The napkin is a heavy cream coloured woven material with red and blue stripes and fringed edges, mine occasionally sheds a thread or two but still looks great. The food is very sturdy and well made and fairly realistic looking. You get part of a loaf of bread, a wedge of cheese, a sausage and an apple, all of which can be wrapped in the napkin and tucked inside the tine. A

We have 3 different versions of the food atm. I wanted to post photos so peole could see the difference. I am not sure of years but I assume the rubbery ones are newer. The only complete set we have is the ones that are harder like clay - similar to the sylvestri ones but they didn't have labels. rubbery ones on left, sylvestri in middle and clayish ones on right Sylvestri on left other clay on right rubbery ones on left clay on right

This is my favorite of the historical lunch sets, so A+ from me. I have the second version which I much prefer.
