This set was released in 1987 and retired in 2008 with the first archival of Samantha's collection.
Wicker was the popular summer furniture found on Victorian porches and in garden gazebos. Samantha's table and two chairs are miniature reproductions of pieces that were made at the turn of the century by the well-known wicker designer, Cyrus Wakefield. Plump, comfy cushions in an enchanting cabbage-rose chintz are tied to the chairs with big puffy bows. They're perfect for the leisurely, luxurious life the Victorians loved. Won't you pull up a chair?
I have these, I got them on Ebay though, so they're used. The lady I purchased them from told me she got them back in 1997-98... so considering they are almost 10 years old, they are still in super great condition and the cushions are still fluffy and colors clean and crisp.

Quite lovely and sturdy - my six-year-old nephew decided to use the table as a step stool! It wasn't damaged at all. The wrapping on the legs is quite well done, so it doesn't come off like some cheaper furniture. And the style of the chairs (the weaving) is an authentic historical pattern. Overall I give the set an A.

When I first bought Samantha's table and chairs, I was skeptical because I did not think the wicker would last. But surprise surprise- it has lasted over 10 years. They are in great shape. I even bought two extra ones last year when I got more dolls. The print of the cushions is absolutely beautiful. The chairs hold the dolls well. The table holds all the treats well. A+

When I first bought this set the smaller pieces of wicker on the chairs were broken and I had to send in for a new set. Despite this the set I have had the new set for maybe 6 years and it has held up just fine. It actually is a very beautiful and elegant piece. However I think it looks a bit plain without the tablecloth and accessories on top

Here is a picture of mine. I absolutely love them! Mine are used, so I had to level it by putting felt bumpers under a couple legs. It's perfect for my girls! The quality is excellent!

i just got these today and wow these are just great! I'm debating ordering another set for DD cause I'm keeping these for myself. They are larger than I imagined they'd be and the cushions are super soft. I <3 them.
I bought them for the discount price + I used a 10 dollar off code so they came to 53 dollars shipped which was an awesome price for this item.

Just got my wicker table and chairs today. (Will add pictures later.)
Anyway, they are marked PC (sticker under the table, tag on chair cushion), but not entirely sure if they are, since the daughter letting go of the stuff appeared to be only in high school.
Anyway, what I tend to always forget now that I am focusing on furniture and accessories is how big this stuff is. Of course the dolls are 18 inches, but I still underestimate how big furniture pieces are, such as chairs.
The set seems very sturdy, and possibly more apt to play time than other sets. Being bought secondhand, the wicker on one of the chairs has a few "threads" spinning off, but nothing crazy. I really like this set, as it reminds me a lot of the wicker prices in my childhood days that we had out on the porch and sun room. It will make for some great scenes with my dolls, even if it is not time-period appropriate for a given doll.

Got the set from AG Chicago in October 2008, when Sam's archival was announced.
Good quality. Sturdy. Was a decent price. Gets dusty easily. Dolls sit really well in the chairs!
When dolls stand next to it the scale feels off, but then that feeling wears away.
Doll does not slide out of chair at all, even with loose limbs.
Chair can be pushed all the way in.

This a is a great durable and playable piece! I like the quality of this set. I don't like that it is so specific. You can really only use it for outdoor pictures and scenes. The primary difference in the chairs is the size of the wicker materials used to make the chairs. The chair on the left has a thicker material and appears to be a bit stronger in regards to durability. The wicker materials on the other chair appear thinner and more delicate. Samantha’s wicker tables are very similar. The only variation I noticed with the coloring changes slightly. This could have also occurred if the wicker had been sitting under bright lights or near a brightly lit window for an extended period of time. I have posted this and other comparisons with photos on my website.

I friend of mine has this. It looks super well made and looks darling with Samantha's birthday items on it. The chintz cushions are very sweet.
