Samantha Parkington was released in 1986 as one of the original three Pleasant Company historical American Girl dolls. An announcement was made in late 2008 that Samantha and her collection would be archived, and by late spring, 2009, items were sold out or no longer available. Samantha emerged from the archives in 2014 under the BeForever rebranding, which included a new meet dress and other new outfits and accessories. Samantha slipped into the "cube" again a few years later, with most of her BeForever items retiring by 2018. In 2021, a special 35th Anniversary Edition of Samantha was released with her original meet outfit and accessories; this edition sold out later in the same year. As of 2023, the Samantha doll (in her second, "BeForever" meet dress) is still available through American Girl along with the meet accessories, mini doll, books, and various girl items (like stickers and notebooks). We are grateful for all of the reviewers who have contributed information and photos to Samantha's review section over the years! We encourage members to continue to add details and quality photos to the existing threads, as they will provide valuable information for collectors now and in years to come. In addition, the following Samantha items have not yet had review threads started: Ribbons for Samantha Travel Bag Set Please read our Guideline for Reviews and continue to add your own photos and observations. Thank you for sharing your Samantha collection with others here on AGPT!
